Chapter 15 - Sarah’s Pride



*While Ryan was trying to sleep, he was disturbed by a bright light emanating from his cards. Ryan closed his eyes and when he opened them, he found himself in some barren empty space. Moments later a Phoenix named Cicera revealed herself to Ryan. Cicera warned Ryan about how aggressive the Dark Minions can be. Ryan realized that they could be going after Sarah next so he asked Cicera to return him home. turns out that Ryan never left though, it was all just an image. When the image faded, Ryan had a new card in his deck – Cicera, Rising Blizzard. Ryan rushed to Sarah’s house to find out that he was correct about the darkness going after Sarah. He managed to save her in the nick of time, but the next Dark Minion found Ryan’s whereabouts when he was inside Sarah’s house by consuming Zach’s brother Kenny, becoming Dark Kenny. Dark Kenny challenged Ryan to a duel, but Sarah didn’t think he was in the right condition from his last encounter with the Dark Minions. So Sarah took Ryan’s place in the duel. the Minion laughs, but accepts her challenge.


Sarah: now that we’re all straightened out, I’ll start our duel (draws a card)

Ryan: Sarah, good luck.

Sarah: thanks Ryan. Now then, I summon Shining Angel in defense mode! [Shining Angel/4//LIGHT/Fairy/ATK 1400/DEF 800/Effect/When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, you can Special Summon 1 LIGHT monster with an ATK of 1500 or less in face-up Attack Position from your Deck. Then shuffle your Deck.]


*a bright yellow light shines on the field, and Shining Angel appears.


Sarah: next I’ll discard my Zeradius from my hand to add The Sanctuary in the Sky from my deck to my hand. And now I activate my Sanctuary! [the Sanctuary in the Sky - Battle Damage to the controller of a Fairy-Type monster from a battle involving that Fairy-Type monster becomes 0.]


*clouds appear behind Sarah, followed by the tall Sanctuary.


Sarah: now that my Fairy’s are safe from battle damage, I’ll end my turn by placing 2 cards face down.


*turn moves to Dark Kenny.


Dark Kenny: so this will truly be a battle between Light and Darkness. Well this just got more interesting. (draws a card) I summon Armageddon Knight in attack mode! [Armageddon Knight/DARK/Warrior/4/1400/1200/Effect/When this card is Summoned, you can send 1 DARK monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.]


*Armageddon Knight arises out of the Dark Aura.


Dark Kenny: with my knight now in play, I can send 1 Dark monster to my graveyard from my deck. I choose my Pitch-Black Warwolf.


*Pitch-Black Warwolf is sent to the graveyard.


Dark Kenny: now Armageddon Knight attack her Shining Angel!


*Armageddon Knight’s sword is surrounded by the Dark Aura as he slashes his sword on Shining Angel. Shining Angel is destroyed.


Sarah: not bad, but you’ve activated my angels ability. Now I can summon 1 Light monster from my deck in attack mode with 1500 attack points or less. I chose, my Nova Summoner. [Nova Summoner/LIGHT/4/Fairy/1400/800/Effect/ When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 LIGHT Fairy-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field, you can Special Summon 1 "Airknight Parshath" instead.]


*Nova Summoner emerges out of a bright Light.


Dark Kenny: that was just 1 weakling for another.

Sarah: really? Cause our monsters strengths are the same…

Dark Kenny: don’t get wise with me little lady. Now then, I’ll place these 2 cards face down and end my turn.


*Turn moves to Sarah.


Sarah: my draw now (draws a card now holding 3 cards) I place 1 card face down, and then summon Mudora in attack mode! [Mudora/LIGHT/4/Fairy/1500/1800/Effect/The ATK of this card increases by 200 points for every Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard.]


*a light appears and Mudora materializes.


Sarah: and my Mudora gets an extra 200 attack points for ever fairy in my graveyard. So since I have 2 that’s 400 points for a grand total of 1900.


*Mudora shines as her attack points rise to 1900. Fairy’s in grave are 1x Shining Angel and 1x Zeradius, Herald of Heaven.


Sarah: now Nova Summoner attack his Knight.


*Nova Summoner glows and fires light from the circle her body forms.


Dark Kenny: nice try but I play my Mirror force! [Mirror Force - Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls.]

Sarah: a good attempt, but I play my trap card Dark Bribe. [Dark Bribe - Negate the activation and effect of an opponent's Spell or Trap Card and destroy it. Your opponent draws 1 card.] with this I can negate the effect of your Mirror Force and destroy it. but don’t worry, you get to draw 1 card.


*Dark Kenny draws a card from his deck now holding 4 cards. Nova Summoner’s attack hits Armageddon Knight dead on. Armageddon Knight is destroyed and the explosion carries over to Nova Summoner, therefore destroying her. Airknight Parshath takes Nova’s place. [Airknight Parshath/LIGHT/5/1900/1400/When this card attacks with an ATK that is higher than the DEF of a Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, draw 1 card from your Deck.]

Dark Kenny: wait where did he come from?

Sarah: oh I guess I forgot to mention that when Nova Summoner is destroyed I can summon another Light Fairy monster with 1500 attack points or less.

Dark Kenny: ok. But your Parshath has 1900 attack points?!

Sarah: if I use Nova’s effect while the Sanctuary in the Sky is in play, I can also chose to bring out an Airknight Parshath from my deck. And now that he’s out I’ll attack you directly with Mudora!


*Mudora lunges forward and slashes Dark Kenny with her dagger. Dark Kenny loses 1900 Life Points. Current LP = 2100. Ryan notices a drop of blood fall from Dark Kenny where he was hit.


Ryan: Sarah be careful! Remember, the real Kenny is the one who takes the hit not the Dark Minion!

Dark Kenny: (struggling) yes that’s right Sarah. Everything is real, it seems that you forgot that. Well here was your reminder. Now then, do you really want to attack me and risk hurting Kenny even more? Or do you want to end your turn?

Sarah: I guess that I…I en-

Ryan: don’t even think about it for a second Sarah! He’s trying to play tricks on you so that he can get the advantage back. But look at the field. he has no monsters out. Another direct blow and this duel is 1 step closer to ending in our favor. I know it’s hard but trust me on this, you have to attack.


*Sarah is really stuck on this 1 decision. She doesn’t know if she wants to risk it and attack, or to just play it safe.


Sarah: (to herself) what should I do…

Chapter 16 - Sarah’s Pride Part 2


*the duel begins between Sarah and the Dark Minion controlling Kenny. Sarah manages to take the upper hand, but Ryan reminds her that Kenny’s body feels all the pain and not the minion. This gives Sarah a difficult decision, whether to continue her attacks, or to end the duel.


Sarah: (to herself) what should I do? Do I attack and risk hurting Kenny, or play it safe for now? god it seems like this decision should be so easy. So why am I having difficulty?


*Ryan can tell that Sarah is going through a tough time right now. He wants to help her out, but doesn’t know how.


Dark Kenny: well what are you gonna do Sarah? We’re all waiting.

Sarah: i…i…

Dark Kenny: tell you what, I’ll make the decision easier for you. I’m gonna skip to the part where I just kill you!

Sarah: what?

Ryan: no!


*Dark Kenny’s Dark Aura appears around him and it erupts in Sarah’s direction. A wave of death is basically heading her way.


Ryan: (angry) I wont let you do this Kenny!


*Ryan’s Rising White Aura forms around him. it burns so rapidly that it gets a tint of Blue in it. Ryan’s Aura emanates from him and forms the shape of a Phoenix. Ryan hears Cicera’s voice.


Cicera: don’t worry Ryan. I’ve got her.


*Cicera flies into the Dark Wave caused from Kenny and in a loud explosion the 2 Aura’s colors spread out across the area. The wind is strong and a little bit of the Dark Aura flies right by Ryan causing his right arm to be damaged. After a few seconds pass the field returns to normal and both Aura’s vanish.


Ryan: (grabbing his right arm) well that was intense.

Raziel: I cant believe you can still joke at a time like this.

Ryan: I guess its what I do. Someone’s gotta stay positive. (to Sarah) hey you ok over there?

Sarah: im good. And you know what? That little stunt just now convinced me. I can’t let someone like you get away with this Kenny. so guess what I’m gonna do now? Im going to attack with my Airknight Parshath!


*Airknight Parshath lunges toward Dark Kenny and slashes his sword across Dark Kenny’s chest. A scrape appears on his chest with a tiny bit of blood dripping out. Dark Kenny’s Life Points drop by another 1900.

Dark Kenny’s Life Points = 200
Sarah’s Life Points = 4000


Sarah: and thanks to my Parshath’s effect I get to draw 1 card from my deck.


*Sarah draws a card and is now holding 2 cards. Dark Kenny stands tall, while placing his hand over his chest, after that last attack from Sarah.


Dark Kenny: yes keep them coming, Sarah.

Sarah: that mind trick won’t work anymore Kenny. so don’t even bother. Now then I’ll place 1 card down and let you go.


*turn moves to Dark Kenny.


Dark Kenny: alrighty then my draw. (now holding 5 cards) I play 2 Fiend’s Sanctuary cards from my hand! [Fiend’s Sanctuary - Special Summon 1 "Metal Fiend Token" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0). It cannot attack. When this Token battles, the opponent takes any Battle Damage its controller would have taken. Pay 1000 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you do not, destroy the "Metal Fiend Token".] and now I releasee both tokens to summon, my loyal servant of Darkness, Dark Horus! [Dark Horus/8/DARK/Dragon/3000/1800/ Once per turn, when a Spell Card is activated during your opponent's Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 DARK monster from your Graveyard.]


*the Dark Aura erupts onto the field as if it were a burning flames as Dark Horus rises out of it.


Ryan: loyal servant? So each Dark Minion has their own card of Darkness?

Dark Kenny: yes. Mine is my Horus. And I’m sure you can figure out who the last Minion’s servant was.

Ryan: Dark Armed Dragon…

Dark Kenny: ah your not as dumb as you look boy.

Ryan: um, I didn’t think I looked dumb…like, at all.

Dark Kenny: I’ve had enough of you brats. This is why I hate teenagers...

Ryan: hey I heard that!

Dark Kenny: anyway…back to the duel. I play Heavy Storm. With this I’ll destroy all spell and trap cards out.

Sarah: don’t think so cause I have a familiar trap known as Dark Bribe! So your storm is reduced to a nice summer breeze.

Dark Kenny: (aggravated) not this again.


*Heavy Storm is sent to the graveyard and Dark Kenny Draws a card. Cards in hand = 2.


Dark Kenny: Horus attack her Parshath with Dark Saber Flame!


*Dark Horus opens its mouth as a dark ball is formed and Horus fires it toward Airknight Parshath.


Sarah: sorry but I play my Dimensional Prison to remove your monster from play! [Dimensional Prison - Activate only when your opponent declares an attack. Remove from play the attacking monster.]


Ryan: alright Sarah. Way ta’ go!

Dark Kenny: that’s not enough to stop me! Go trap card Dark Illusion! [Dark Illusion - Negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect that targets a face-up DARK monster, and destroy that card.] with this I can now negate your little trap. Nice try Sarah.

Ryan: (worried) so the attack will hit?!

Dark Kenny: exactly. Horus finish where you left off attack that knight!


*Horus’s flame breaks through the trap Sarah tried to play and hits Airknight Parshath dead on. A little bit of the flame hits Sarah and burns part of her right sleeve and a tiny burn on her right arm.


Sarah: (blowing off her arm) ow, hot, hot, hot.

Ryan: just hang in there Sarah.

Sarah: its all good Ryan. now Kenny since my field spell is still out I don’t take any damage from your attack.

Dark Kenny: well you still feel pain and that’s good enough for me. You’ll lose in time just wait and see. Now then I’ll place 1 card face down and end my turn.


*Turn moves to Sarah.


Sarah: here I go. (draws a card now holding 2 cards) since there’s another fairy in my grave my Mudora now has 2100 attack points.


*Mudora shines as her attack points rise another 200 to 2100.


Sarah: next I summon my Agent of Judgment – Saturn by sacrificing my Mudora. [The Agent of Judgment – Saturn/6/FAIRY/Light/2400/0/ If your Life Points are higher than your opponent's Life Points, activate this card's effect by Releasing this card from your side of the field. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the difference between your and your opponent's Life Points. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is not on your side of the field, this effect is not applied. When you activate this effect, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn.]


*Saturn rises out of a shining light that shines from inside the Sanctuary in the Sky and stops once she gets in front of Sarah.


Dark Kenny: well it’s a decent monster, but how about playing something stronger than my Dark Horus. Your monster only has 2400 and my Horus has 3000. you don’t plan on attacking do you?

Sarah: actually, no I don’t. what I plan on doing is using my decks secret weapon. You see there’s a reason I try to keep my Life Points high. Its so I can use effects like my Agent of Judgment – Saturn. See when my points are higher than yours you take damage equal to the difference in our Life Points.

Dark Kenny: wait so that’s…

Ryan: a big fat 3800 points of damage headed toward Kenny! nice going Sarah!

Sarah: Saturn, lets end this shall we? I Sacrifice my Agent to play her Special Effect! Game over Kenny!


*The Agent of Judgment – Saturn hovers toward Dark Kenny’s side of the field. Saturn unleashes a blinding light that destroys everything on Dark Kenny’s field and causes Dark Kenny to lose 3800 points. Current Life Points = 0. the Dark Aura forms around Kenny but then is torn away from him and floats in the air. Ryan’s White Aura forms and he holds his left arm out and unleashes a wave of his Aura to penetrate the Darkness. The Dark Aura fades away and the field returns to normal. Ryan’s Aura fades and he runs over to Sarah.


Ryan: well, you did it Sarah.

Sarah: yea I guess I did. but c’mon lets check on Kenny.

Ryan: right.


*Ryan and Sarah run over to Kenny’s body. It has a couple of bruises and scrapes, but its nothing as serious as Zach’s incident. They are both relieved. Ryan carries Kenny to the Hospital just in case.


Ryan: excuse me, nurse?

Nurse: yes can I help you?

Ryan: this man was lying in the road. He seems fine but I just wanted to be sure.

Nurse: ok we’ll see what we can do.

Sarah: thank you.

Nurse: but don’t leave yet, there are going to be some police officers who would want to talk to you.


*Ryan and Sarah look at each other nervously and they know this isn’t going to end well.


Ryan: Sarah we gotta stop helping people…

lol yea Dark Horus isnt the best card. but im trying to get all those Dark counterparts of cards to be the Minion's aces. (like Dark Voltanis, Dark Creator...etc.)

and yea i gotta add a little humor every now and then. i dont like things that are always serious. i think Ryan saying we gotta stop helping people is one of my favorite lines ahaa.

ahh i see. he will definetly be used. thanks mann.

ahaa. he will be. i already know who will be using him.

Chapter 17 – The Next Threat



*in the last chapter the duel between Sarah and the 2nd Dark Minion continued, but the problem was that Sarah did not know if she wanted to risk harming Kenny with her attacks or to just play it safe. The Dark Minion controlling Kenny became impatient, so he just skipped to the part where he tries to kill Sarah. He unleashes a wave of darkness on Sarah. Ryan was not going to let this happen. He manages to save her by somehow summoning the spirit of Cicera and Cicera slammed into the wave, therefore making it vanish. Sarah realized how heartless and ruthless the Dark Minion’s were so she was then convinced that she has to attack Kenny. She manages to win the duel in the end and she also manages to keep Kenny’s body from major harm. Still, Ryan and Sarah bring Kenny to the hospital just to be safe. When they arrived the nurse they talked to said that a couple of police officers would want to speak to them. And so, after exchanging nervous looks at each other, they sat and waited.


Sarah: (worried) Ryan what do you think is going to happen?

Ryan: I’m not sure. But it probably wont be too good. You might be fine, but I’m worried about what they’ll do to me.

Sarah: Ryan, we’re going to be fine. it just depends on what we say to them.

Ryan: (shocked) are you thinking about telling them the truth?

Sarah: if worst comes to worst, then yes. I don’t see any other way out of this.

Ryan: but Sarah…I don’t know if I could do that.

Sarah: well we have to come up with something. And don’t forget to remain vague.

Ryan: okk. How about, we were walking around in the woods with Kenny and then we fell down a steep hill. That’s where the scrapes will come in. then we can say that Kenny hit his head on a rock and that’s where the unconsciousness comes in.

Sarah: that would be good, except we already told the Nurse that we just found him in the road…and the small burn on your arm would still remained unexplained.

Ryan: ahh crap, you’re right. well how about-

Sarah: wait, shhh.


*Sarah tries to get Ryan to stop planning as she sees 2 cops start walking toward them. 1 of the 2 cops is the same one from before.


Ryan: great just my luck, it’s the same guy from yesterday…

Cop: well look what we have here. Ryan and Sarah right? (sarcastically) isn’t this a coincidence.

Cop 2: you know these 2?

Cop: as a matter of fact I met with them yesterday. (to Ryan & Sarah) I am starting to become awfully suspicious of you 2 now.

Ryan: oh come on like you weren’t suspicious before?

Cop: what did I say about talking back?

Sarah: just what exactly is it you want?

Cop: what I want? What I want is too know why whenever there’s trouble I end up running into you 2.

Ryan: hmm, ever consider that maybe it’s because all the trouble always happens in front of our houses?

Cop: yea. And why is that?

Sarah: we already told you last time. WE DON’T KNOW.

Cop: alright that’s it. (to the other cop) grab the boy. Bring them out to the car.


*the cop grabs Sarah’s arm and holds it tight.


Sarah: oww okk stop it your hurting me!

Cop: shut up!

Ryan: (being carried away by the other cop) hey! Did you not understand that? Loosen your grip!

Cop 2: silence!

Ryan: this isn’t a courtroom…

Cop 2: I said silence!


*Cop 2 starts holding Ryan tighter now, practically making it so he can’t breathe. Ryan notices that Sarah’s hand is getting purple from the blood flow being blocked off.


Ryan: (struggling) I said let go of her!


*a tiny bit of the Dark Aura appears around the corner. Without it even being seen, it manages to cling itself onto Ryan and then disappears. Ryan’s eyes glow white and the Rising Aura appears around him. nobody else can see it but Ryan and Sarah. Ryan becomes more frustrated and his eyes now change to purple. The Aura starts changing to a Blue, then a Darker Blue and ends up burning the 2nd cops arms, causing him to let go.


Cop 2: (yells) what the?


*Ryan now looks at the other cop and the Aura spreads over to him and Sarah. Sarah doesn’t feel anything at all, but the Cop also feels a burn on his hand, causing him to let go.


Cop: (confused) that was hot!


*Ryan runs over to Sarah and grabs her arm. The Aura starts waving rapidly and Ryan and Sarah vanish.


Cop: what?! Where are they?

Cop 2: they disappeared? hey, can we do that?

Cop: no...they’re not supposed to be able to do that. Call in for help. We’re going on a search.


*Cop 2 calls for backup. Both cops head to their car and start searching for Ryan and Sarah. Sirens are heard as 3 more cop cars start the search as well. The scene now takes us back to Ryan and Sarah. The Aura appears in Ryan’s room and it seems like Ryan and Sarah materialize from it.


Sarah: what in the world just happened?

Ryan: (shocked) no way. I can teleport? Ohh man this is sweet!

Sarah: well I’m glad your learning how to control the Rising Ryan, but do you think it was a good idea to do that?

Ryan: what do you mean?

Sarah: I mean we just ran away from cops. Well not ran but, you know what I mean. And I can already hear the sirens. They’ll probably be coming here first.

Ryan: well then we can’t stay here. Lets go.


*Ryan attempts to bring the Aura back so he can try teleporting again, but nothings working. He seems confused cause he thought he could control it now.


Ryan: so Sarah, about that controlling thing you just mentioned…

Sarah: you have no idea how to control it now…

Ryan: no no. its not that. Its just…well…kinda, yea….

Sarah: so what are we going to do now?

Ryan: I have no clue.

Sarah: great. You just had to use the Rising didn’t you?

Ryan: heyy its like this thing has a mind of its own. It seems like it comes when I need help and that’s all. But it was different this time. I had the biggest urge to hurt those cops like they were hurting us. I cant explain it, but my mind was just filled with rage.

Sarah: well you do have that self-control issue.

Ryan: yea but its never that bad…I don’t know. But I know we can’t stay here. Come on, lets sneak out through the woods.


*Ryan and Sarah start to head down the stairs and toward the back door. As they are walking around the house Sarah realizes that Ryan’s grandfather is no where to be found.


Sarah: Ryan, where’s your Grandpa?

Ryan: ahh I don’t know. But I’m sure he’s fine. But we won’t be if we stay here. We have to move.


*They head out the back door and start running toward the woods. As they are about to step into the woods, the cops come flying into Ryan and Sarah’s driveway. About a dozen cops step out of the cars and about half of them are holding up guns.


A Cop’s Voice: don’t move!


*Ryan and Sarah are frozen with fear. They can’t believe they are in this situation. All of a sudden the wind picks up and out from the woods comes another Dark Minion’s wave. Ryan grabs Sarah as he jumps out of the way of the streaming Aura. Every cop gets struck with the Aura, forcing all of them to fall down. The cop cars topple over. Eventually the wind dies down. Ryan and Sarah stand back up to see what happened. As they look over they see one cop start to stand up again. The Dark Aura starts to form around the cop and his eyes glow purple. He begins to talk.


Dark Cop: we couldn’t possibly let them take you in Ryan. We had to save you so that we can fulfill our destiny and live in our own world. We can’t do that without killing you, and we can’t kill you if you’re locked up.

Ryan: well thanks I think…

Dark Cop: and as an added bonus once I lift my spirit from this cop, he and the other cops won’t remember a single thing about today.

Sarah: well that’s good.

Ryan: yea I guess. But he still can’t be trusted Sarah. (to the Minion) so what exactly do you want?

Dark Cop: you’ve done this before haven’t you? We are going to duel. and you will die this time Ryan. I am the 3rd Minion and they will only keep on coming, the next one more powerful than the first.

Ryan: why are you doing this…

Dark Cop: that story has already been shared with you so I’m not wasting time telling it again. So come on and let’s duel.


*the Dark Aura appears and the Cop’s arm glows black as a duel disk is formed with a deck inside already. The Dark Minion now looks at Ryan as he just stands there.


Dark Cop: well what are you waiting for? Start your duel disk and lets go.

Ryan: what am I waiting for? To be honest, all this to be over. I’ve had enough. And if the only way to do that is with a duel then I’ve got no choice. (to Sarah) hey Sarah, mind if I borrow your duel disk? Mine is inside.

Sarah: sure.


*Sarah throws Ryan her duel disk. Ryan shuffles his deck and places it inside. Both Ryan and the Dark Minion Draw their opening hands and their Life Points are set to 4000.


Ryan: (drawing a card from his deck) this has gone on long enough!

Chapter 18 – Good Cop or Bad Cop?


*Ryan is completely fed up with the Dark Minions interfering with his life. The 3rd Minion made his debut by coming out of the woods behind Ryan’s house. It hosted itself within a cop who was trying to catch Ryan and Sarah for running away from him. the Dark Minion made a deal with Ryan once it made itself at home inside the cop. The minion said that if Ryan accepts the Dark Minion’s challenge to a duel and wins then the cops will forget everything that has happened since Ryan and Sarah’s first encounter with the police, but if Ryan loses then he will die. Ryan heard enough and accepted the challenge hoping to end this war between good and evil. When we last saw Ryan he had drew 1 card from his deck, therefore starting the duel.


Sarah: come on Ryan teach these guys a lesson already!

Ryan: I’ll do my best.


*the Rising Aura appears around Ryan.


Ryan: (looking at his hand) time to go to work. Alright, to start, I’m gonna summon Poseidon, Rising Water in attack mode.


*Water rises from the ground and Poseidon is summoned.


Ryan: then I’ll knock down a face down and end it at that.


*turn moves to Dark Cop.


Dark Cop: get ready kid (draws a card) I’m gonna place 1 card face down and summon Winged Rhynos in attack mode! [Winged Rhynos/WIND/4/Beast-Warrior/Effect/
When a Trap Card is activated, you can return this face-up card from the field to its owner's hand]


*a wind storms the field and Winged Rhynos is summoned.


Dark Cop: now Winged Rhynos attack his puny monster!


*Winged Rhynos rushes toward Poseidon and destroys him. Ryan takes 200 points of damage as he is blown back from the wind. Current LP = 3800.

Dark Cop: (chuckles) how was tha-

Ryan: (cutting him off) trap card open! Rising Call.



*a White Aura appears on the field right in front of the Rising Call trap card.


Ryan: when you destroyed my monster, you allowed me too summon another level 4 or lower Rising monster from my hand or deck to the field. come on out Okenuth, Rising Flames.


*The White Aura turns into a fire and Okenuth emerges from the flames in attack mode.


Ryan: Okenuth gets 300 more attack points for every card on the field including himself. So I have him and you have 2 other cards. So that puts Okenuth at 900 attack points.


*Okenuth’s attack points rise to 900.


Ryan: now then, are you finished?

Dark Cop: completely.

Ryan: good. so its my turn now.


*turn moves to Ryan.


Ryan: (draws a card. Now holds 5 cards) first, I play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face down. [Mystical Space Typhoon - Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field.]


*Bottomless Trap Hole is sent to the graveyard.


Ryan: and now I summon Rising Synchron!



*a green light shines and Rising Synchron is formed.


Ryan: and now I’ll Tune my 2 level 4 monster together for a level 8 Synchro Summon.


*the circles all over Rising Synchron begin to glow green as he transforms into stars of light. The stars turn into 2 circles and surround Okenuth. Okenuth begins to glow green.

Ryan: I Synchro Summon Anikados, Rising Star!



*The green light from Okenuth turns into white and Anikados is Synchro Summoned in attack mode.


Ryan: alright Anikados attack his Rhyno with Star Storm!


*Anikados flies into the air and begins to glow yellow. A yellow orb is formed inside Anikados’s mouth and a yellow Ray of light and stars is launched at Winged Rhynos. Winged Rhynos is destroyed and the Dark Minion takes 1200 points of damage as he’s blown backwards from the attack. Current LP = 2800.

Dark Cop: (struggling to get up) pesky dragon…

Ryan: I hope you don’t think Anikados is done there.

Dark Cop: (confused) what?!

Ryan: (chuckles) when Anikados destroys an opposing monster in battle, he inflicts damage to you equal to that monsters attack points. Anikados, time to shine. activate Solar Star!


*Anikados lowers down to the Dark Minion’s level and begins to shine brightly. The Dark Minion yells as he looses another 1800 Life Points.

Dark Cop’s LP = 1000
Ryan’s LP = 3800.


Ryan: you know, I thought you said each Minion was going to get tougher? Well to be honest, I feel like they’ve gotten weaker. Either that or I’ve just grown stronger than all of you now.


*The Dark Minion looks up at Ryan and sees his Rising Aura waving rapidly, as if it’s growing.


Dark Cop: (to himself) oh no. how could this happen? All of Ryan’s pride has made him stronger. This was not how this was supposed to play out. My master is going to be so disappointed…


*Sarah has not taken her eyes off the duel. she’s amazed at how confident Ryan is. Honest appears.


Honest: it seems that Ryan is doing well.

Sarah: I think hes been in control this whole time. I’ll tell ya, that Whyet guy sure did give us a scare over nothing.


*the Dark Minion hears this and begins to laugh maniacally. Ryan looks at him with a serious look.


Ryan: and just what is so funny?

Dark Cop: oh im sorry. Forgive me. Its just that I overheard your friend over there.

Ryan: (angry) you leave her alone. Do you understand me!?

Dark Cop: I make no promises.


*Ryan’s face becomes even more serious. That was not the remark he was expecting.


Ryan: (frustrated) I am so sick and tired of your games!


*Ryan’s eyes begin to glow Blue and his Aura gets a Blueish tint to it.


Ryan: i have to say I am disappointed in you guys. The warning Whyet gave me made this seem like it was going to be a much tougher battle than this.

Dark Cop: see now that’s why I was laughing. You think you have it won just because you summoned a fancy monster? You have no idea what kind of power your dealing with.

Ryan: I’ve got a hunch though, and I know for sure what kind of power I have. And I am positive that I can take you down with it.

Dark Cop: believe what you want Ryan. But if your done its my turn. So are you done Ryan?

Ryan: I am.

Dark Cop: wonderful.


Turn moves to the Dark Minion. The Minion does not draw his card right away. Instead, he looks at Ryan, then Sarah, and then Ryan again. He begins to laugh.


Dark Cop: ohh I am going to enjoy this turn Ryan!


*Ryan says nothing. He just keeps a serious look as he stares down the Dark Minion with his new Sky Blue eyes. While Ryan is looking at him he notices something. He can see a light inside of the Dark Minion. Cicera’s voice is heard.


Cicera: Ryan, what you are seeing right now is with my vision, through my eyes. Whenever your eyes become this blue color you and I are the same spirit. And that light you see inside the Minion is the goodness inside the Cop. That shows you how much good is left until the Darkness takes full control over him.

Ryan: I get it Cicera. So I just have to end things quickly. No big deal. This should be interesting.

Cicera: good luck Ryan.

Ryan: (to the Dark Minion) I have seen the good within the Cop you possess. Your evil has not fully taken over so now I know I can still win. and I also know why you guys try to finish your duels so quickly – so you don’t lose your grip on your host. Well I promise you that I am putting a stop to this. No matter what it takes.

Dark Cop: nice speech, but actions speak louder than words.

Ryan: well I ended my turn. So its your move now and its your move that we’ve all been waiting for…

Dark Cop: alright. I will take my turn as you wish.


*the Dark Minion begins to laugh. Ryan, Sarah, and Honest all look at him. Sarah then looks at Ryan. The Ryan she sees is a different Ryan than shes used to. She realizes he has learned how to better control the power given too him. the view now takes us to a birds-eye view of the field. the scene ends with the Dark Minion laughing maniacally.

Chapter 19 – Good Cop or Bad Cop Part 2


*the 3rd battle between Ryan and the Dark Minion’s has started. Ryan has taken the lead by Synchro Summoning Anikados, Rising Star and after a comment about how they thought the Dark Minions would be stronger the Minion starts to laugh. He’s not giving up and neither will Ryan. And so the show must go on.


Dark Cop: my turn. (draws a card. now holding 4 cards.) I discard D.D. Crow to remove 1 monster card in your graveyard from play. [D.D. Crow/DARK/1/Winged-Beast/100/100/Effect/ By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, remove from play 1 card from your opponent's Graveyard. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.]


*a dark aura appears around Ryan’s duel disk and Okenuth is removed from play.


Ryan: ah crap.

Dark Cop: (maniacal laugh) and now, by removing 1 Wind monster and 1 Dark monster in my graveyard from play I can Special Summon my loyal servant of darkness!


*the wind is strong. The dark aura around the Dark Minion is waving rapidly. The Aura flies into the air and forms the shape of a giant bird.


Dark Cop: arise from the Darkness, Dark Simorgh! [Dark Simorgh/Dark/7/Winged-Beast/2700/1000/Effect/ This card's attribute is also treated as WIND. You can remove 1 DARK and 1 WIND monster in your Graveyard from play to Special Summon this card from your hand. You can remove 1 DARK monster and 1 WIND monster in your hand from play to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. While this card is face-up, your opponent cannot Set cards on the field.]


*Dark Simorgh is formed from the Dark Aura in the sky. It screeches loud and proud as it flaps its wings, which creates a fierce wind.


Ryan: double crap…


*Ryan looks at Dark Simorgh and notices it has only 2700 attack points.


Ryan: (chuckles) nice monster, but did you happen to notice how my Rising Star still has 3000 attack points on your 2700?

Dark Cop: I was getting there. Now then I activate a field spell card known as Rising Air Current. [Rising Air Current - Increase the ATK of all WIND monsters by 500 points and decrease their DEF by 400 points.]

*the wind blows constantly now. The dark Aura surrounds Simorgh as his attack points climb up to 3200, and its defense points down to 600.


Ryan: triple crap…

Dark Cop: now Dark Simorgh take down that Anikados!


*Dark Simorgh flaps its wings creating a wind and the Dark Aura is sent flying toward Anikados. Anikados is destroyed and Ryan receives 200 points of damage. Current LP = 3600.


Ryan: (angered) no, Anikados!

Dark Cop: now that your dragon is gone, I’ll end my turn.


*turn moves to Ryan.


Ryan: (drawing a card, now holding 4 cards.) I promise you I’m going to make you pay.


*Ryan’s blue lit eyes change to more of a purple.


Dark Cop: (laughing) well before you continue, I’ll share some info with you. It seems that my kings plan has worked.

Ryan: what plan?

Dark Cop: a little bit of our darkness has made its way into your heart.

Sarah: what?

Dark Cop: you remember having the urge to kill those cops at the hospital right Ryan? well you see, when you were talking to those cops a little bit of my darkness was let out and attached itself to you. That’s why you had that urge. And now that its inside you it will only grow until it takes over.


*Ryan and Sarah are both struck with fear.


Ryan: but...how…why didn’t I see this coming?! (yells) im such an idiot. I can’t believe I let that happen…

Dark Cop: well it did so just accept that fact. It’s already spreading within you Ryan. The anger you feel towards me is helping it grow. And it’s already showing. Your eyes and Aura are and will slowly change.

Ryan: no. I don’t believe you. Now just shut up and let me take my turn.

Dark Cop: fine, fine.

Ryan: good. cause I activate the field spell card Rising Oracle.



*the Oracle's seal appears in the sky and a mixture of colors fall across the field around them.


Ryan: now whenever I summon a Rising monster, I can place 1 Oracle Counter on this card. And by removing counters I can summon a monster with a level equal to that of the counters I removed. Now I activate the Spell card Monster Reborn to summon back Poseidon in defense mode.



*the Rising Aura appears on the field and Poseidon is formed. An Oracle Counter is placed on Rising Oracle. Current Counters = 1.


Ryan: next I’ll activate Rising Bind to decrease your Simorgh’s points by 500.



*the green symbols appear on Simorgh decreasing his attack points to 2700.

Ryan: and now I play the spell card Rising Elements.


Ryan: with this I can take Prometheus from my deck and add him to my hand. And now with his special ability he special summons himself to my field and I choose to summon him in Defense mode!



*Prometheus lunges foreward onto the field and heals in defense mode. An Oracle Counter is placed on Rising Oracle. Current Counters = 2.


Ryan: and now I’ll remove 1 counter from Rising Oracle to Special Summon Polaris, Rising Ice from my deck in defense mode.



*and ice storm appears on the field and Polaris is summoned. And Oracle Counter gets placed on Rising Oracle. Current Counters = 2.


Ryan: and now with my Polaris’s special effect I get to draw a card.


*Ryan draws 1 card from his deck. He see’s that he’s drawn Arkados.


Ryan: no way. It’s the card Whyet gave me. He had complete faith in me and this card shows that. And I also have the support of Sarah, Honest, and all my cards. I know I can do this. Even if what the Dark Minion said were true, I would never let the Darkness take control of me. I hope this next move works.


*The Dark Minion notices Ryan’s line up of monsters.


Dark Cop: so, I see you’re setting up some defense against my Dark Simorgh. Well those monsters won’t stand a chance.

Ryan: yea well see I was trying to defend myself at first, but then I saw what I drew with Polaris’s effect. And now everything has changed. Cause I can still normal summon this turn and I have just the monster I wanna summon.


*The Rising Aura appears around Arkados’s card and Ryan’s eyes go back to the Sky Blue color.


Ryan: I sacrifice Polaris, Prometheus, and Poseidon to summon Arkados, Rising Life!



*The Rising Aura appears around all 3 of Ryan’s monsters. The monsters fade away and the Aura’s combine causing the Aura to grow. Arkados is summoned from the Aura and Roars and an Oracle Counter is placed on Rising Oracle. Current counters = 3.

*Ryan looses his strength and kneels down.


Ryan: whoa. All my energy was just drained from my body.


*Ryan hears Cicera’s voice.


Cicera’s Voice: the reason you feel week is because Arkados is basically the main fuel supply of your cards. He is the one who gives your deck power. He is the keeper of the Rising Aura. All your powers come from him so it takes a lot of strength to pull off a summon with his card.

Ryan: I get it now. He is quite the addition to my deck. I’m glad we came across him.

Cicera’s Voice: it was bound to happen eventually.


*Ryan looks up at Arkados.


Ryan: you see him Dark Minion? He is the center of my deck. And he’s the one who’s gonna take you down.

Dark Cop: (nervous) he is huge. How come we weren’t warned of this card?

Ryan: probably because he has been unknown till this day. And for the record, Whyet gave me this card. That’s why I’m gonna win this duel using him.


*The Rising Aura appears around Arkados.


Dark Cop: that traitor. He will pay.

Ryan: no, you’re going to leave him alone. Cause we’re finished here. Arkados, attack his Simorgh with Rising Blaze!


*Arkados roars proudly. He opens his mouth and a White light appears inside. The Light is fired and instantly changed to a fire that’s the color of the Rising Aura. The attack hits and covers Dark Simorghs entire body and all around him. the Dark Minion is blown backwards a good 10 feet and he takes 1300 points of damage. Current LP = 0.


Ryan: and that’s all.


*the holograms fade and the field turns back to normal. The Dark Aura lifts away from the Cop and disappears. Ryan turns around and walks over to Sarah.


Sarah: thank god that’s over.

Ryan: yea no kidding. But theres still more Minions to come.

Sarah: speaking of, do you think what this Dark Minion said was true? About you being taken over by the darkness.

Ryan: well I’d sure like to hope not…

Sarah: well whatever happens I’m with you all the way.

Ryan: thanks Sarah.

Sarah: now, should we help these cop guys out?

Ryan: nahh they’re cops. They can handle it. at least they wont remember anything about today. but it’s getting late so I’m gonna call it a day.

Sarah: (laughs) alright. Good night Ryan.

Ryan: ‘night Sarah.


*Ryan and Sarah both go home. Ryan heads up to his room and lays down on his bed letting out a big sigh. Raziel appears.


Raziel: well that’s another battle done. You’re getting better at this. (laughs)

Ryan: (softly) yea.

Raziel: something bothering you?

Ryan: (lying) no. nothing at all. No offense Raz but I’m going to bed. That ok?

Raziel: of course. You deserve it. good night.

Ryan: thanks. goodnight Raz.


*Raziel fades away. Ryan lies up all night thinking about what the Dark Minion said to him. he keeps running it over and over again in his head.


Ryan: (thinking to himself) I know what I have to do. I cant stay here anymore. I have to leave…


*the scene now takes us outside to the cops lying down in the road. 1 cop gets up and looks all around him to find his friends all lying in the road with the cars flipped over. turns out the cop was hit on the head a little too hard.


Cop: whoa. we must of had quite a storm for everyone to be flung out here. sounds like a fun ride though. too bad i was sleeping.

Chapter 20 – The Runaway Duelist



*Ryan’s last duel with the 3rd Dark Minion made him realize that some of the darkness is lurking inside his heart and will only grow and eventually take over unless he is helped. He decides that he doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt so he comes to a decision – to runaway.


Ryan: (laying in bed) I can’t stay here anymore. It’s time for me to go for now.


*Ryan gets up out of bed and starts to pack up some clothes. Raziel appears.


Raziel: (confused) hey um, are we going somewhere?

Ryan: not we. I have to leave Raz. You heard the Minion didn’t you? If I stay here and the darkness takes me over then I’ll be putting everyone in harms way…

Raziel: are you sure that’s the best idea?

Ryan: (looks down) no. but it’s all I can think of. And don’t try to change my mind Raz.

Raziel: well then let us figure this out together Ryan. I can help you.

Ryan: no.

Raziel: what?

Ryan: you’re not coming with me Raz…I’m leaving my deck behind.

Raziel: you’re doing what?!

Ryan: it’s not easy for me. But it’s for your own good. I cant let the darkness get to my cards. Especially you.

Raziel: but we’re like a family Ryan. You cant just abandon your family!

Ryan: my family did it to me.


*Raziel remembers the first day her and Ryan met. Back when Ryan was just a15 year old kid. His mom was arguing with him about another fight he got in. his brother William was in the room sitting on a couch.


Katherine: I can’t do this anymore Ryan.


*Ryan looks up.


Katherine: I meant it. I want you out.


Ryan: (upset) b-but mom, I’m only 15 years old! Where am I gonna go?!

Will: you heard our mother man, get your stuff and go.

Ryan: hey, this isn’t the time and place for you’re mouth, man!

Will: ohh so now cause you got into a fight you think you’re a tough guy?

Ryan: just watch your mouth brother.


*Will gets up from the couch and walks toward Ryan. Ryan stays put. Will looks like he’s about to hit Ryan.


Katherine: William don’t. Ryan, just get out.

Ryan: why don’t you worry about your own life Will. Instead of trying to get away with controlling mine.


*William throws a punch at Ryan with his right hand. Ryan grabs William’s shirt but Will punches him again with his left hand this time.


Katherine: Stop it you too! Get out Ryan!

Ryan: fine! But just so you know its not my fault dad got arrested again so stop taking your anger out on me all the time.


*Ryan gets up and heads to his room. He grabs a travel bag and packs up clothes. He opens his window and climbs out. As he’s halfway out the window, a White light starts to shine from inside Ryan’s closet. He goes back inside and opens the door. He looks around and sees that the light is coming from the top shelf of his closet. When he searches the top shelf he finds a case.


Ryan: what’s this?


*he opens the case and to his joy he finds a deck of cards he’s never seen before. While he looks through them, he hears a voice come from behind him.


Voice: you’re not as alone as you may feel, Ryan.

Ryan: who’s there?


*Ryan turns around to see a Fairy-like creature with Red wings standing before him.


Ryan: who are you?

Raziel: my name is Raziel. I am a spirit of one of your new cards. i have been in that case for quite some time, probably your whole life, just waiting for the time to come for you to find me.

Ryan: you’re a card spirit?


*The white light starts to shine again, but this time only from one card about ¼ of the way into his new deck. When he finds the card hat is glowing, he sees it’s Raziel, Rising Dawn.


Ryan: whoa. You’re not kidding.

Raziel: no. and I will stay with you forever Ryan. As your Guardian Spirit.


*the memory stops and we return to Ryan and Raziel in the present day.


Raziel: times are different now. You don’t need to make the same mistake your family did Ryan. Just stay here. We will all understand.


*Ryan is silent while he does some serious thinking.


Ryan: ok. You can come with me. But I’m not staying.


*Ryan grabs his cards and duel disk and places them inside his packed bag. Ryan and Raziel walk down the stairs and looks around his house one final time.


Ryan: I’m gonna miss this place.

Raziel: hey, where is your grandfather Ryan? I haven’t seen him in 2 days.

Ryan: yea Sarah hasn’t seen him either. I hope he’s ok.


*as Ryan takes his final look around the house, he starts to rethink his decision. But in the end he doesn’t change his mind. He realizes that this isn’t something he wants to do, but something he has to do. Raziel fades away. Ryan walks out the back door and starts heading to the woods. He continues to walk until he reaches a road. Luckily, a car comes by in a matter of minutes. Ryan holds up his thumb and the car stops. Ryan opens the passenger door and gets inside.


Ryan: thanks for stopping. Can you take me to the nearest bus station?

Driver: sure thing kid. The names Hank by the way.

Ryan: ok. Well thanks Hank.

Hank: no problem at all. Only thing is that the ride is gonna be a little while. Probably about a half hour.

Ryan: I’ll pay you 10 bucks.

Hank: done.


*they drive off. About 10 minutes into the drive Ryan falls asleep. While he’s asleep he senses something that gives him an uneasy feeling and wakes him up.


Hank: something wrong there sonny? You seem startled.

Ryan: it’s nothing.


*Ryan looks outside and can see the wind pick up tremendously by looking at the trees around him.


Ryan: (to himself) someone’s following me.


*Ryan senses the Darkness from a Dark Minion. All of a sudden the Dark Aura appears around the car. For some reason Hank (the non-duelist) can see the aura.


Hank: what is this?

Ryan: just hold on. Let go of the wheel and put your seat all the way back.

Hank: why?

Ryan: if you want to live beyond tonight, you’ll do as I say. Now put it back.


*Hank doesnt argue with that and puts his seat all the way back.


Ryan: now lean back all the way. I need a clear shot at your door.


*Hank leans all the way back and his door is completely exposed. Ryan looks around and sees the Dark Aura growing around the car more and more, almost completely engulfing it. the back side, and Ryan’s side is completely covered. The Rising Aura appears around Ryan. He holds up his right hand and launches a blast of Aura at Hank’s door causing it too fall off..


Hank: (in amazement) what the?

Ryan: save the questions for later. sit back up now.


*Hank sits up. Ryan unbuckles Hank and himself. He grabs Hank and jumps out of the car. The Rising Aura appears beneath them right before they hit the ground, therefore cushioning their fall as they roll down a hill. When Ryan is steady again and can stand back up, he looks up at Hank’s car. It’s still in motion and the Aura is still covering it. the Aura completely covers the car a few seconds later and crushes it. Hank saw what happened as well.


Hank: holy cow man. That could have been us! you saved me. Although, I don’t know how you did it, but thank you.

Ryan: lets just say I’m not exactly your everyday teen.

Hank: I realized that.

Ryan: (changing the subject) well I think I can get to the bus station on my own from here. I’ll give you another 5 bucks for the trouble. Thanks anyways.


*Ryan hands Hank the $15.


Hank: (still in shock) umm, sure no problem.

Ryan: now, where do you need to be?

Hank: well, home would be nice. Its just 5 minutes from the station. 371 Wolbourn ave.

Ryan: ok.


*The Rising Aura appears around Ryan as he makes the Aura spread over to Hank.


Hank: (spooked) what are you doing?

Ryan: taking you home. just relax.


*The Aura waves rapidly around Hank. Moments later he vanishes and reappears in front of his house.


Hank: Im home? and I’m alive! (excited) I’m alive and home!!


*Scene takes us back to Ryan. Raziel appears.


Raziel: you seemed to of controlled the Rising really well that time Ryan.

Ryan: yea I guess I did. I feel like I know what to do with it now to make it happen. Thank god cause that could save my butt.

Raziel: believe me, I saw. (laughs)


*Raziel fades away. The Rising Aura appears around Ryan again.


Ryan: okk. Take me to the closest bus station.


*the Aura waves rapidly and Ryan vanishes. He appears next to the bus station he was headed toward. He walks inside, and buys a ticket to the next town over – Chino. After he bought his ticket, he sits down in one of the chairs and waits. We’re now taken to Sarah. She is still sleeping in her room. Honest appears.


Honest: Sarah, wake up. Ryan has run away!


*Sarah awakens to the news.


Sarah: he, ran away?

Chapter 21 – Is This Goodbye?



*Ryan decided to run away to a new town without even saying goodbye. He was worried about how the outcome of the Darkness lurking inside his soul would affect his friends and family. At first he planned on leaving his deck behind, but Raziel convinced him to take it with him. Ryan got a ride to the bus station from a person named Hank. On the way to the station Hank and Ryan were attacked by the Dark Aura of a Dark Minion. For some reason Hank could see the Dark Aura, even though he’s not a duelist. The Darkness tried to trap the 2 inside the car and then crush the car. Ryan used the power of the Rising to blast open a door and jump out of the car with Hank. After all the Madness Ryan gets hank home safely by teleporting him with the Rising Aura. Back home Honest tells Sarah the news about Ryan running away.



Sarah: so, he just ran away?

Honest: that’s right. Raziel told me about the news without Ryan knowing. She told me to tell you.

Sarah: well I’d love to say thank you, but I cant now.

Honest: so Ryan didn’t even tell you what he was planning?

Sarah: (shakes her head) I guess he thought it was easier than saying goodbye.

Honest: and is it?

Sarah: no…

Honest: well then I guess it’s a good thing Raziel also told me where they are. You ready to go?

Sarah: (excited) you know where they are?

Honest: they’re at a bus station just about a half hour from here. Ryan planned on riding a bus to Chino.

Sarah: well then what are we waiting around here for! Let’s get going!


*Sarah grabs her deck and heads for her front door, quietly of course. She can’t risk waking up her parents. We are now with Ryan at the bus station. He is sitting in one of the waiting chairs until his bus is here when a man no older than him sits down next too him. once the man sits down Ryan senses that he is carrying a deck on him. he knows this guy is a duelist.


Ryan: so, how long have you been dueling?

Man: who, me?

Ryan: yea. I know you have cards on you.

Man: (laughs) right. well I’ve been dueling for about 4 years now. I have a deck that not too many people know about.

Ryan: yea. I could say the same thing.

Man: so you’re a duelist too huh.

Ryan: you guessed it. been using the same deck my whole life of Dueling.

Man: same here. My names Trey by the way.

Ryan: (refering to himself) Ryan

Trey: Hey, mind if I take a look at your deck? And to show you I’m not trying to pull a fast one on you, I’ll show you my cards too.

Ryan: (laughs) sure, why not.



*Ryan and Trey exchange decks. Ryan can tell that Trey is not a bad person at all. His deck seems to trust him, and the Rising Aura didn’t harm him or even appear like it did with those cops.


Trey: wow hey these are pretty sweet cards. definitely one of a kind.


*when Trey gets to Raziel’s card, he hears a voice. He doesn’t know it yet, but its Raziel’s voice.


Raziel: hello.

Trey: who in the how?

Ryan: something wrong?

Trey: no, I just heard someone say hello that’s all.

Ryan: (in his thoughts to Raziel) are you pulling a joke on this guy?

Raziel: maybe…What I can’t have a little fun?


*Ryan laughs.


Trey: what’s funny?

Ryan: well I’ll be honest with you. Cause I know when I say this you wont think I’m crazy. The voice you heard was the card spirit of Raziel, Rising Dawn. The card you’re looking at right now. She wanted to joke around with you is all. And I know you won’t think I’m crazy when I say she’s my Guardian Spirit because I know you talk to card spirits too.


*Ryan holds up a card. The card was Crystal Carbuncle – Erasmos.



Trey: but how did you know?

Ryan: I have a sense for things like this. And Erasmos is telling me to put him down as we speak.

Trey: (laughs) well I didn’t know it was possible but someone else out there can talk to card spirits too. What are the odds that he’d be in the same bus station as me.

Ryan: we’re not the only ones. My friend Sarah can as well.


*Ryan pauses and looks down.


Trey: something the matter?

Ryan: well, you see, I just ran away from home. I didn’t tell Sarah about this idea and I’m starting to regret it.

Trey: so is Sarah like you’re sister?

Ryan: no, just a friend.


*Raziel appears and is visable to Ryan and Trey.


Raziel: a friend that he’s in love with. Woops did I say that out loud? (laughs)

Ryan: oh yea thank you Raz.


*Erasmos appears.


Erasmos: you know, I kinda like them. They act funny around each other.

Trey: (laughs) good thing cause I think we’ll be seeing more of this guy Erasmos.

Ryan: well anyway, you have a cool deck also. I’d love to duel it some time.

Trey: yea I would like to duel your deck too. (snaps his fingers) wait a minute. Idea just popped into my head. How about we duel right now?

Ryan: as in right here right now?

Trey: well we can go outside, but yea.

Ryan: (laughs) I don’t see why not.

Trey: alright. Lets go.


*Raziel & Erasmos disappear and Ryan & Trey head for the outside. Once out there they both take out their duel disks, shuffle their decks, and prepare for a duel. Right before they’re about to start, a car pulls up to the curb. Sarah steps out.


Sarah: thanks again mr. here’s a 20 for the trouble.

Driver: thank you.


*Sarah closes the door and turns around to see Ryan standing there with a guy she hasn’t seen before.


Sarah: well this is unexpected. Ryan this isn’t a duel with a Dark Minion is it.

Ryan: no. but be quiet about that.

Trey: Dark Minion?

Ryan: (ignoring Trey) Sarah how did you know where to find me?

Trey: ohh so this is Sarah. Oh yea Ryan shes a keeper.


*Ryan looks at Trey with a shut up type of look.


Sarah: Raziel told Honest where to find you and Honest told me.

Ryan: why did you come for me?

Sarah: ohh man does nothing have value in that horrible ruin of a brain that you have?

Ryan: um, ouch?

Trey: BURN!


*Sarah looks at Trey with a shut up kind of look.


Trey: (to himself) oh yea they’re definitely in love.

Sarah: Ryan I came cause I care. Can you honestly say that you didn’t want to say goodbye?

Ryan: this wasn’t something I wanted to do. It was something I had to do. As soon as this duel is done im leaving Sarah. Now, at least watch the last duel of mine you’ll probably ever see? It would mean a lot to me.

Sarah: (touched and surprised) ok.

Ryan: thank you. Now then, you ready for this Trey?

Trey: I’ve been ready the whole time you 2 love birds have been bickering over there.


*Ryan and Sarah look at each other.


Sarah: Ryan, duel him and shut that mouth of his.

Ryan: on it.


*Ryan and trey both draw their opening hands and their Life Points are set to 4000. Raziel appears next too Ryan and Erasmos appears on Trey’s shoulder.


Ryan: alright. Here we go.

Chapter 22 – The Crystal Duelist



*Ryan’s plan of running away has been interrupted by a duelist named Trey. Trey can hear and see card spirits just like Ryan and Sarah can, and he has a deck that’s very unique, just like Ryan has. Trey asks Ryan for a duel and Ryan agrees. Before they start, a car pulls up next to them and to Ryan’s surprise, Sarah steps out. After a little bit of bickering between Ryan and Sarah, Trey and Ryan finally begin their duel.



Ryan: alright I’ll be kicking things off. (draws a card now holding 6 cards) I summon Aeolus, Rising Wind in attack mode.


*the wind picks up as Aeolus is summoned to the field.


Ryan: next I’ll knock down 3 face downs and end it at that.


*turn moves to Trey.


Trey: here we go! (draws a card now holding 6 cards) I activate the spell card Heavy Storm to wipe out everything you had planned. [Heavy Storm - Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the Field.]


*the wind picks up.


Ryan: nice try but I reveal one of my face downs, Dark Bribe. [Dark Bribe - Negate the activation and effect of an opponent's Spell or Trap Card and destroy it. Your opponent draws 1 card.]

Trey: aw mann.

Ryan: I’m guessing I don’t need to explain my Dark Bribe.


*The wind dies down. Heavy Storm is sent to the graveyard and Trey draws 1 card.

Trey’s hand – 6
Ryan’s hand – 2


Trey: well at least I got to draw. (to himself) he probably needs those face downs for something.

Ryan: so, anything else?

Trey: of course. I summon Crystal Wolf – Bricius in attack mode.


*A Blue crystal appears on the field and shatters as Crystal Wolf – Bricius is summoned.


Trey: I hope those face downs of yours were worth keeping. Cause my Bricius is gonna attack your Aeolus. Go Bricius, Crystal Blizzard!


*Bricius howls as tiny pieces of Crystal fragments fly around the field. they all head toward Aeolus, causing him to be destroyed and Ryan to take 100 points of damage. just then a Blue Crescent flies at Trey casuing him to take 300 points of damage.

Ryan’s LP = 3900
Trey’s LP = 3700


Trey: (confused) what was that? and why did I lose Life Points?

Ryan: cause while you were calling out your attack, I was activating my Rising Flare trap card. Which causes you to take 300 points of damage whenever a Rising monster of mine is destroyed.



Ryan: And now I’m activating my 2nd trap card known as Rising Call!


*the Rising Aura appears in front of the Rising Call trap card.


Ryan: this activates whenever a Rising monster on my field is destroyed as well. And it allows me to summon another one to take its place so come on out Violiar, Rising Shadows



*the Rising Aura in front of Rising Call begins to wave rapidly, and Violiar is formed inside the Aura. The Aura fades away and Violiar is left standing.


Trey: (impressed) not bad at all Ryan. (to himself) this guy definitely knows how to duel)

Ryan: you finished?

Trey: not quite. You see when Bricius destroys a monster, you take damage equal to that monsters Defense points. So I’ll have you take 1700 more points of damage.

Ryan: wait what?


*Crystal shards appear and fly at Ryan causing him to lose 1700 points of damage. Current LP = 2200.


Ryan: (struggling) not bad at all. You mean business.

Trey: why thank you. Now then I’ll lay down 2 face downs and then I’ll end my turn. Now you can go.


*turn moves to Ryan.

Ryan’s hand – 2
Trey’s hand - 3


Ryan: alright. My draw. (draws a card. now holding 3 cards.) I activate Violiar’s special ability. During my main phase if he’s face up on my field I can choose a monster on your side of the field. and that monster loses 100 attack points for every card in its owners hand. Of course, I select Bricius.


*Violiar wraps his tentacles around Bricius and his attack is lowered to 1500.


Trey: so now our monsters points are the same.

Ryan: yea not for long. Cause I play the equip spell card known as Soul Reaver.


*Violiar’s right “arm” glows white in the shape of a blade.


Ryan: now I can pay any amount of life points up to 800 and give all those points to Violiar. I’m gonna pay 400.


*Ryan’s LP drop down by 400 and Violiar’s attack points rise up by 400.

Violiar’s attack = 1900
Ryan’s LP = 1800


Ryan: now Violiar attack his Bricius.


*Violiar lunges foreward toward Bricius. Right before his attack hits a Crystal wall appears in front of Violiar, causing him to hit the wall.


Ryan: what? What happened?

Trey: I activated my Crystal Barrier trap card is what happened.


Trey: what this does is negate an attack that targets a Crystal monster I have. And then as an added bonus we both get to draw 1 card.


*Ryan and Trey draw 1 card from their decks.

Ryan’s hand = 3
Trey’s hand = 4


Ryan: well then. On to plan B. I’ll knock down another face down and activate the Spell card Brain Control. [Brain Control - Pay 800 Life Points. Select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. Take control of it until the End Phase.]


*Ryan’s Life Points go down by 800 and Bricius changes sides.

Ryan’s LP = 1000
Trey’s LP = 3700


Trey: (thinking) well he’s already attacked, so he must have something else in mind. (realizes Ryan’s plan) ah, hold on, no!

Ryan: I guess you figured out what I’m planning. (laughs) that’s right I’m going to sacrifice both of our Monsters to summon Valkundacious, Rising Guardian to my field in attack mode!


*The Rising Aura appears around the 2 monsters. The Aura grows and forms into one big wave and Valkundaicious is summoned in attack mode.


Trey: wow. He’s so cool.

Ryan: (laughs) for your information Valkundacious is a girl. But anyway yea she is cool. And lucky for you she’s the only Rising monster on my field or you’d be taking 400 points of damage for each monster.

Trey: well I dodged that one.

Ryan: I’m gonna let you go now.


*Turn moves to Trey.

Trey’s LP = 3700
Ryan’s LP = 1000

Trey’s Hand = 4
Ryan’s hand = 0


Trey: well, here goes nothing. (draws a card now holding 5 cards.) first I switch Bricius to defense mode. And then I’m gonna summon my Crystal Dragon – Carolus also in defense mode!


*a blue crystal forms on the field and shatters as Carolus is summoned.

Trey: next I’ll place 1 card face down and end my turn.


*turn moves to Ryan.

Ryan’s LP = 1000
Trey’s LP = 3700

Ryan’s hand = 0
Trey’s hand = 3


Ryan: ok, now here I go. (draws a card now holding 1 card) perfect. I Summon Poseidon, Rising Water to my field in attack mode!


*a rush of water appears on the field and Poseidon is summoned.


Ryan: and now I’d like to introduce you to something new that even I haven’t performed yet. A new style of fusion known as “Rising Fusion” you see when I conduct a Rising Fusion I have to return 2 fusion material monsters on my field back to my hand and then I can summon a fusion monster that they would create. So consider yourself lucky to be the first victim of Rising Fusion.


*the Rising Aura surrounds Valkundacious and Poseidon. Valkundacious and Poseidon are returned to Ryan’s hand but the Aura stays as it forms a new monster.


Trey: too cool.

Ryan: I summon Adelmar, Rising Tempest!



*the Aura explodes over the field and the Wind is strong. Adelmar spreads his wings with pride as he is summoned to the field in attack mode.


Ryan: and now that Adelmar is out I can destroy 1 Spell or Trap card on the field once per turn. And the best part is the cards owner receives 400 points of damage. So I’ll take out the card you last set Trey.


*Adelmar flaps his wings and A lot of Wind and Rain is formed and heads in the direction of Trey’s new face down, causing it to be destroyed. Trey takes 400 points of damage. Crystal Freeze is sent to the graveyard.


Trey’s LP = 3300
Ryan’s LP = 1000


Trey: ah dangit.

Ryan: and now I activate my face down card, Aura Blast.


Ryan: Adelmar attack his Bricius with Torrential Storm!


*Adelmar roars and more Wind and Rain is formed and it flies right toward Crystal Wolf – Bricius. Bricius is destroyed.


Trey: not bad but now I activate this trap known as Crystal Formation!



*a crystal appears in front of the card.


Trey: this trap is similar to your Rising Call trap Ryan. Only difference is that I get a Crystal monster. So come on out Crystal Wyvern – Evaristus!


*the Crystal shatters and Evaristus is summoned.


Ryan: not bad Trey. But I guess now’s a good time to explain my Aura Blast trap card. since my Adelmar is a level 10 monster, whenever he attacks you lose 500 Life Points.

Trey: (shocked) uh ohh...


*the Aura Blast trap card glows and fires a red-ish white blast toward Trey causing him to take 500 points of damage.

Trey’s LP = 2800
Ryan’s LP = 1000


Ryan: I guess I’ll end it at that.


*turn moves to Trey.


Trey: alright here we go. (draws a card now holding 4 cards) My Evaristus is a tuner monster Ryan.

Ryan: no way. You’re gonna Synchro Summon?

Trey: that’s right. I Tune my Evaristus with my Carolus to Synchro Summon the level 8 Crystal Guardian – Caillius!


*Evaristus glows Blue and turns into 3 balls of light that surround Carolus. Carolus begins to glow blue. The Lights conjoin and shine brightly as Caillius is Synchro Summoned.


Ryan: (thinking) a Synchro monster with 2900 attack points. Looks like his Ace card.

Trey: and now my Crystal Guardian gives me 400 Life Points for every Crystal Monster in my graveyard. I have 3 so that’s 1200 Life Points.


*Caillius glows bright and then Trey glows as well. His LP increase by 1200.

Trey’s LP = 4000
Ryan’s LP = 1000


Trey: so what do you think Ryan?

Ryan: actually, I think I need sunglasses just to see her. (laughs)

Trey: (laughs) it’s not bothering me. I guess I got used to it after all these years.

Ryan: I guess that’s true.

Trey: well what now? You have no way of protecting your Adelmar. And your hand is fresh out of cards. Aura Blast is use less at the moment. One attack from Caillius and I’ll be that much closer to defeating you.

Ryan: (realizing the situation) oh man. i’m not worried Trey. I’ve had to deal with much worse believe me. Bring on your Crystal Guardian.

Trey: alright if you say so. Caillius, attack his Adelmar with Crystal Light!

Chapter 23 – The Crystal Duelist Part 2


*the duel begins between Ryan and Trey and it seems to go back and forth. It’s hard to tell who the winner may be. Ryan ends up introducing a new fusion technique that only works with his deck known as Rising Fusion. Ryan summoned Adelmar, Rising Tempest with the new Rising Fusion Method, which gives Ryan an edge. But then Trey ends up Synchro Summoning his Crystal Guardian – Caillius and puts Ryan in a tough spot. It’s an all out war between Crystals and Aura.



Trey: Caillius, attack his Adelmar with Crystal Light!


*Caillius shines brightly as she charges up her attack. Caillius forms her arms into a circular shape and a ball of light is created. The ball is then shot at Adelmar and turns into a large wave of light causing Adelmar to be destroyed and Ryan to take 100 points of damage.


Ryan’s LP = 900
Trey’s LP = 4000


Ryan: well I must say I’m impressed. You out-monstered me and also fully replenished your life points with 1 card. but I hope in all your fame that you didn’t forget about my Rising Flare trap card.


*just then the Rising Flare trap card glows blue and launches a blue crescent wave towards Trey causing him to take 300 points of damage.

Trey’s LP = 3700


Trey: 3700 is still more than enough. At least compared to your 900.

Ryan: yea don’t worry about me. (to himself) I gotta start to be more careful from this point on. Otherwise if this keeps up he’ll wipe out my Life Points for sure. Lets see what I’ve got. Nothing in my hand, and only Rising Flare and Aura Blast on the field. those wont help me now. I’m gonna have to draw something good to survive the next round.

Trey: your move.


*turn moves to Ryan.


Ryan’s LP = 900
Trey’s LP = 3700

Ryan’s hand = 0
Trey’s hand = 4


Ryan: alright. Time to make this turn count. (draws a card. now holds 1 card) ok. I summon Jhereg, Rising Air in defense mode.


*the monster card zone he’s summoned to erupts with the Rising Aura and Jhereg is summoned.


Trey: (to himself) something’s off about that Aura. Every time it appears I feel like I’m sensing the presence of something strong.

Ryan: I’ll end it at that.


*turn moves to Trey. When Trey draws a card, he hears Erasmos.


Trey: oh, hey Erasmos.


*Erasmos appears.


Erasmos: need any help?


*Ryan notices Erasmos.


Trey: no no, not right now bud. I’m good.

Ryan: (laughs) well how about that. Erasmos is just as nosy as you Raz!


*Raziel appears.


Raziel: heyy when have I ever been nosy?


*Trey notices Raziel.


Ryan: ohh pretty much always.

Raziel: name one time Ryan…

Ryan: ok. All those time you bug me about Sarah. I’ll always get a, “oh did anything happen yet? Are you a ‘thing’ now? Or are you still lame?” and stuff like that.


*Trey begins to laugh.


Raziel: yea I know. I just wanted to hear you admit to being lame. (starts to laugh)


*Sarah hears this in the distance.


Sarah: what does it matter to you Raziel!? (starts to think) actually, what you just did was pretty funny. (laughs)

Ryan: ohh brother…

Trey: can we get back to the duel?

Ryan: yea sorry about them…please continue.

Trey: cool. I activate the Field Spell Card, Crystal Cavern!


*a cave full of crystal, so much that it looks like its made out of it, appears on the field.


Trey: now I can discard 1 Crystal monster in my hand to the grave to change the Battle Mode of a Crystal Monster on my field. also, any Crystal monster in defense mode wont be destroyed with just 1 attack.

Ryan: oh great.

Trey: now I activate the Equip Spell Card, Crystal Core.


*a transparent circular crystal appears on the field.


Trey: with this I can Special Summon 1 Crystal Monster in my graveyard to my side of the field and equip it to this card. so come on back Crystal Wyvern – Evaristus!


*Evaristus appears inside the Crystal Sphere from the Crystal Core spell card.


Trey: and since Evaristus is equipped with Crystal Core, you can’t attack him as long as I control another Crystal Monster. And as you can see, Caillius is shining bright. And by the way as long as Caillius is out all other Crystal monsters on my field are unaffected by Spell or trap cards. so that makes my Evaristus pretty much invincible.

Ryan: oh mann. What a strategy.

Trey: and it gets better. As long as Evaristus is out you can’t activate any set spell or trap cards. face it Ryan, there aren’t many ways around this strategy. Can you pull it off?

Ryan: I guess we're about to find out, aren’t we?

Trey: I guess so. Alright then. Evaristus attack his Jhereg!


*Evaristus glows blue and Crystal spikes shoot out of the ground toward Jhereg. Jhereg is destroyed.


Trey: and now-

Ryan: (cutting him off) well see first things first. You take 300 points of damage from Rising Flare.


*a crescent blue wave flies toward Trey causing him to lose 300 life points.


Ryan: and second, I activate Jhereg’s special ability to special summon a Rising Monster from my deck. Come on out Okenuth, Rising Flames in defense mode.


*the Rising Aura erupts on the field. the Aura turns into fire and Okenuth is summoned.


Trey: fine then. I’ll just have to take this one out with Caillius!


*Caillius charges up her attack and launches it at Okenuth. After it hits and the attack fades Trey notices that Okenuth is still there.


Trey: what’s this? You don’t have anything face down or on the field that can help you!

Ryan: actually you’re wrong. Okenuth himself can help me. See if you control at least 2 monsters then he won’t be destroyed in battle. Gotch’ya.

Trey: (laughs) yea you got me there. Well I’ll discard another Evaristus in my hand to switch Caillius to defense mode. And I guess all I can do now is lay a face down and end my turn.


*Caillius switches to Defense mode as the turn moves to Ryan.


Ryan’s LP = 900
Trey’s LP = 3400

Ryan’s hand = 0
Trey’s hand = 1


Ryan: ok. Here goes nothing. (draws a card. now holds 1 card)


*Raziel appears. She looks at Ryan and nods.


Ryan: (realizing he drew Raziel) ohh, Right. I guess I don’t have any other choice. (to Trey) The Dawn is Rising Trey cause I summon Raziel, Rising Dawn to my field in attack mode!


*Raziel’s card shines brightly and Ryan’s hole field soon after that as she is summoned to the field.

Ryan: you ready Raz?


*Raziel nods.


Ryan: Okenuth?


*Okenuth nods.


Ryan: then lets get going. Alright Raziel and Okenuth time for Rising Fusion!


*The Rising Aura appears around Ryan, and then around Raziel and Okenuth. The Aura waves rapidly around both monsters as the 2 Aura combine. The Aura then explodes over the field as a new monster is created.


Ryan: I summon, Aeschylus, Rising Sun!


*Aeschylus slowly Rises out of the Aura’s light and up into the sky as he is summoned to the field.


Trey: (thinking) my Dark Bribe I just layed face down wont help me here…


*After Aeschylus’s big entrance, Trey notices the Rising Aura around Ryan, but doesn’t say anything.


Trey: that’s a nice monster Ryan. But I think you’re forgetting some key pointers here. Even though your monster could destroy my Caillius he can’t thanks to Crystal Cavern. And you cant attack my Evaristus as long as Caillius is out.

Ryan: then I guess I better make this count considering Aeschylus returns to my Extra Deck during my next Standby Phase.

Trey: returns to your Extra Deck? (thinking) then why would he play him.

Ryan: oh yea, guess I should mention Aeschylus’s key ability. He can remove from play 1 card in your graveyard or on your field from play, and then inflict damage to your Life Points equal to the removed monsters attack points.

Trey: (shocked) no way!

Ryan: oh yeaa. Now Aeschylus, lets get to it. remove that Crystal Guardian!

*Aeschylus is still in the air as he spreads his wings. Just then the Rising Aura appears around Caillius and disintegrates her, causing her to be removed from play and Trey to lose 2900 Life Points.


Trey’s LP = 500
Ryan’s LP = 900


Ryan: and lets not forget that whenever a level 5 or higher Rising monster on my field attacks, my Aura Blast trap card will automatically deal to you 500 points of damage. Game over Trey. Aeschylus, attack his Evaristus with Burning Aura!


*Aeschylus holds up his arms as the Rising Aura forms above him. the Aura then turns into a burning Red color and grows in size. Aeschylus waves his arms down toward Evaristus and sends the flaming Aura right at Evaristus, causing him to be destroyed, and Trey to take 500 points of damage from Aura Blast.

Trey’s LP = 0

The holograms fade.


Ryan: great duel Trey.

Trey: same to you. It was an awesome duel. probably the most exciting duel I’ve ever had.

Sarah: see Ryan, how can you leave town now?

Ryan: (trying to sound sarcastic) hmm yea I don’t know Sarah.

Sarah: well fine then I’m coming with you.

Ryan: hmm ok. But before we go home, I’m gonna need to grab a bite to eat. Bus station food is gross. (laughs)

Sarah: do you ever think about anything other than fo-(realizes what Ryan just said) d-did you just say before we go home?

Ryan: (nodding) mhm. This duel made me realize that my problem won’t be solved by running away. As long as I’m here I have support from my friends.

Sarah: that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you.


*Raziel appears


Raziel: so was I, but he’s so dense sometimes.

Sarah: all boys are.

Trey: hey you’ve got 2 of them right in front of ya.

Ryan: he’s right Sarah. Better watch what you say or somebody’s gonna be buying me a burger.

Sarah: I’m not buying you anything Ryan.

Ryan: fine. Trey will just buy me one then. (laughs)

Trey: wait, what? That wasn’t a deal!

Ryan: yea but I spent my money on a bus ticket, and Sarah wont buy me one. So you’re my last option.

Trey: what have I gotten myself into…

there is a part in this chapter that will only make sense too 1 forum lol. the part with Mike. well i should say it wont make sense, cause it does. it will just be clearer on what happens with the other forum. but still, hope you enjoy.



Chapter 24 – The End of Innocence


*After the duel with Trey, who eventually did buy Ryan a burger, the crew decided to head on too their separate homes. The time is now 9:47 PM. After Ryan and Sarah got Trey back home Sarah begins to walk off ahead of time.


Trey: see ya later guys.

Ryan: I’ll see ya.


*Ryan notices Sarah walking off.


Ryan: hey, where do you think you’re going?

Sarah: (confused) home?

Ryan: well yea but why like that? We don’t have too walk since Trey’s not with us remember?

Sarah: (laughing) are you sure? You think you’ve got what it takes to teleport us both home at once?

Ryan: well I’ve got pretty good control over it now, I’d say. But
I guess there’s only one way too find out.


*the Rising Aura appears around Ryan. Ryan grabs Sarah’s hand. Sarah begins to blush. The Aura then surrounds Sarah and within a few seconds they both vanish. The scene now goes to a world we haven’t seen before, the world of Darkness.


Dark Minion: my Lord, the plan has been completed. We’re now waiting for your future orders.

Dark Master: excellent.

Dark Minion: anything you want me to do?

Dark Master: as a matter of fact, I would like you to
travel too their world next.

Dark Minion: so I’m dueling Ryan now?

Dark Master: not exactly.


*the Dark Minion stares in confusion.


Dark Master: once you get up there. I need you too locate Ryan. With our most recent plan at a completion, he should be easily taken over by Darkness. So what I want you to do is let out all of your Darkness and have it consume Ryan.

Dark Minion: you do know that doing this will end up destroying my spirit right?


*the Dark Master nods.


Dark Minion: well if I have done all I can for you, I promise I will succeed in this final task, my Lord.

Dark Master: glad to hear it. you’ve served me well. Now get going.


*the Dark Aura surrounds the Dark Minion and the Minion vanishes. The scene now takes us back to Ryan and Sarah as they re-appear in front of Sarah’s doorstep.


Ryan: well, here we are.

Sarah: well what do you know? You can do it.

Ryan: (laughing) yepp guess so. Well goodnight Sarah.

Sarah: goodnight.


*Ryan begins to walk off and head toward his house.


Sarah: hey Ryan?

Ryan: (stops walking) yea?

Sarah: I just wanted to say…I mean…I just want you to know that…


*Ryan stands there almost confused.


Ryan: what is it Sarah?

Sarah: (changing her thought) um. I just wanted to say I’m glad you decided to come home.

Ryan: yea me too. What was I thinking?

Sarah: (laughs) don’t know. Well goodnight.

Ryan: ‘night.


*Sarah goes inside her house. Ryan continues walking to his. Once he reaches his door he goes inside. he walks around and realizes his Grandfather still isn’t anywhere around the house.


Ryan: where in the world could he be?


*Raziel appears.


Raziel: where’s who?

Ryan: my Grandpa. I don’t know exactly how long he hasn’t been home but it feels like forever.

Raziel: that’s true. Have you tried calling him?

Ryan: that’s a good idea Raz. I think I’ll do that right now.


*Ryan takes his cell phone out of his pocket. He begins to dial but a display warning comes up on the screen. It reads:

LOW BATTERY


Ryan: ahh mann. Low battery. Guess I’ll use the house phone.


*Ryan heads over to the house phone. When he gets there he notices the missed call button is flashing, along with the new voicemail light. Ryan and Raziel listen to the voicemail.

“This is the head of the police. I was hoping you would have answered the phone cause I hate to have to say all this through a voicemail. But before I continue, I would like to say that you and your friend are no longer a suspect to us anymore. But that’s not the main reason I’m calling. We found your Grandfather on the side of a street today about 2 miles from here. He needed medical help but we could not get it too him in time. It was too late when we found him. I’m sorry son, but your grandfather passed away.”


*there’s silence for about 5 seconds. Then the voicemail continues.
“If you need anything at all feel free too contact us. I’m sure you remember where too find us.”


*the voicemail ends. You hear the girl’s voice of the answering machine in the background while Ryan just stares at the wall.


Raziel: Ryan…


*Ryan is silent as he wears a blank expression on his face. Raziel doesn’t know what too say. She then notices that the blank look on Ryan’s face has changed to anger.


Ryan: they did this, didn’t they…

Raziel: they?

Ryan: they’ve gone too far this time. This has to end.


*the Rising Aura appears around Ryan. Raziel is both worried and too scared too say anything. The color of Ryan’s Aura becomes a burning blueish white, and then changes into a dark blue with a black tint. His eye’s also have the darkblue tint. The Aura fades away and Ryan is gone.


Raziel: that doesn’t look good.


*Raziel disappears. Ryan then appears on a hill about a mile away from his town and stares out towards the horizon.


Ryan: I’m not going to stop until I find you.


*after about 10 minutes on the hill, Ryan uses the Aura to transport himself to all different places in and around Corona. He searches all night without any rest. The time is now 11:00 AM. Raziel appears.


Raziel: don’t you think its time you rested? You’ve been searching for about 13 hours.

Ryan: im not going to stop.

Raziel: well can you at least call Sarah?

Ryan: no. im not involving her in this anymore. They took my Grandfather from me. I wont let them take everything.

Raziel: (to herself) everything? Sarah?


*Raziel disappears. the Aura appears and burns around Ryan again and he teleports to yet another spot near-by. He searches for hours without food or sleep. The time is now 4:30. Ryan transports himself to another town about 3 miles away. Raziel appears.


Raziel: do you really think they’ll be here?

Ryan: they could be anywhere.

Raziel: could you at least think about what you’re doing?

Ryan: I have. I know exactly what im doing.


*Raziel disappears. all of a sudden Ryan is struck with some kind of a sense. He looks up at a building in front of him as he hears a cry for help. He runs closer and realizes a younger boy is falling from a roof. Ryan looks around at everyone standing around the building as they don’t try to help at all. They just stare. Ryan makes a decision to help this boy. He holds up Aeolus’s card.


Ryan: Aeolus come forth!


*Aeolus’s card glows white and within seconds Aeolus materializes.


Ryan: you have to help out here Aeolus. I need to you catch that kid falling. Fast.


*Aeolus nods. He spreads his wings and takes off as fast as he can towards the falling boy. Aeolus successfully catches the boy and safely brings him down to the ground right next too Ryan.


Boy: who are you 2?

Ryan: Hey my name is Ryan. I saw you falling of that building’s
rooftop. are you ok? What happened up there?

Mike: my name is Mike, My teacher stole my deck and some
creep pushed me off the rooftop.

Ryan: seems like a crazy school, Aeolus take care of Mike, I’ll be right back

Mike: Aeolus?


*the new tinted Rising Aura appears around Ryan. Ryan vanishes and Aeolus stays behind. Ryan then appears on top of the roof where he meets 2 creeps in cloaks. Their faces are visible.


Creep 1: (confused about the appearance of the Aura) what the?


*the Aura fades away and Ryan is left standing there.


Creep 2: who are you?

Ryan: that’s of no importance to you. I bet you 2 think you’re funny pushing a kid off a roof. Did you honestly think cloaks that don’t even hide your faces would get you out of trouble?

Creep 1: hey, the hoods are off…

Ryan: which makes you 2 so much dumber. At least wear the hoods…

Creep 2: who do you think you are?

Ryan: I don’t have time for this today. Lucky for you im in a hurry. So to make things easier on the both of us, how about you just hand over that deck you stole…

Creep 2: as if.

Creep 1: no joke. We’re going to rip you apart kid.


*the 2 creeps charge at Ryan and prepare for a fight. When they’re both about 5 feet in front of him, Ryan reacts.


Ryan: (sighs) is everyone I meet this stubborn?


*the new tinted Aura quickly appears and explodes away from him just as quickly. The Aura hits both creeps dead on and knocks them down. Raziel appears.


Ryan: im pretty sure I warned them…

Raziel: Ryan, you’re hurting them…

Ryan: not now Raz..

Creep 1: (struggling as he gets up) what the heck was that…

Creep 2: im going to kill this guy!


*they both get up and charge at Ryan again.


Ryan: ok. These 2 are the dumbest freaks I’ve ever met. They may even beat Zach and Kenny…

Creep 1: (preparing a punch) I hope you know a nice doctor kid!


*Ryan notices a cop car driving by.


Ryan: (chuckles) I hope you know a good lawyer…


*the Aura appears around the 2 creeps and they both vanish.


Raziel: what did you do with them?

Ryan: don’t worry Raz, I didn’t hurt them. Although death probably beats where I did put them…

Raziel: and that is?

Ryan: a cop car that drove by. I put them in the back seat of the car. Hence why I told them about the lawyer.

Raziel: well at least you didn’t kill them. You had me worried.


*Raziel fades away. Ryan transports himself back to the ground in front of Mike.


Mike: how do you do that?

Ryan: is this your deck?


*Ryan hands Mike a deck.


Mike: yeah this is it

Ryan: I couldn’t help but see that you have a winged beast deck with cards that I’ve never seen before, im curious where these cards are from and you have a spirit monster too I see?

Mike: they were a gift, and yeah you could say that, this is Castiel

Castiel: hello

Ryan: nice to meet you. listen Mike, I have to go now, but I think Aeolus would work very well with your deck. I'll give you my card Aeolus, Rising Wind.

Mike: rising…Castiel!

Castiel: I don’t think he is a Risen mike he wouldn’t of saved you

Ryan: (overhearing the conversation) what?

Mike: uhm nothing, ok if you really think he would help my deck then sure


*Aeolus turns into a card, Ryan hands mike the card


Ryan: I really think so, but I got to go, Nice meeting you.


*Mike looks down at Aeolus, Rising Wind for a second then looks up, Ryan is gone. The scene now goes to Sarah inside her house watching tv.


Sarah’s mother: Sarah, dinners ready!

Sarah: alright mom.


*Sarah gets up too turn off the tv when Raziel appears next too her.


Sarah: (whispering) what are you doing here?

Raziel: I have to talk to you.

Sarah: (whispering) okk. But not here. My parents are in the kitchen. We’ll go upstairs. (to her mom) I’ll be right down mom! Just gotta get something.


*Sarah and Raziel head up to Sarah’s room. Raziel tells her the news about Ryan’s Grandfather and how he has planned to search for the Dark Minions until he finds them.

Chapter 25 – The Transformation


*after Ryan found out that his Grandfather died, the only thing that came to his mind was that it was the work of a Dark Minion. Ryan’s anger transforms his Rising Aura into a darker color. This worries Raziel, and she gets even more worried when she sees Ryan injuring people. Ryan searches all day and all night for any Dark Minion, but is unsuccessful. Raziel is later convinced that Ryan still cares when he saves a kid named Mike from falling off a building. After all the madness Raziel shows up at Sarah’s house to tell her the about everything.



Sarah: I cant believe this has happened.

Raziel: yea I know. And the worst part is that Ryan actually hurt people.

Sarah: he just attacked them? For like no reason?

Raziel: well, they pushed a kid off a roof of a building.

Sarah: oh my godd!

Raziel: no no, the kids fine. Ryan had Aeolus catch him.

Sarah: ohh. Wait, so Ryan can materialize his monster spirits now?

Raziel: guess so. I didn’t exactly question him about it. I was still stuck in the moment. But we’re getting off track here. What should we do about Ryan?

Sarah: well where is he now?

Raziel: he’s in the next town over. Im not exactly sure of it’s name.

Sarah: how far away is it?

Raziel: about 3 miles I think?

Sarah: well then lets go.

Raziel: wait. I thought you were about to eat?

Sarah: oh crap. I’ll come up with an excuse.

Raziel: no hang on.

Sarah: hmm?

Raziel: you go eat. I’ll try and get Ryan too come back home. he needs to rest.

Sarah: okk.

Raziel: and if Ryan asks, don’t tell him I came to you. I don’t think he wants you too know what’s going on…

Sarah: alright...well good luck.


*Raziel disappears. We’re taken back to Ryan. The time is now 7:06. Ryan is no longer in the new town. He is now back on that hill we’re he first looked out into the horizon where he’s thinking to himself.


Ryan: why wont they show up? What are they waiting for? (chuckles) they probably know how mad I am and how easily I could destroy all of them right now. Those cowards…


*Raziel appears.


Raziel: Ryan. Can we go home now? Its getting late and you haven’t eaten anything since yesterday…

Ryan: (sighs) ok Raz you win. we’ll go home.

Raziel: (relieved) thank godd!


*Raziel disappears. Ryan transports himself back home.


Ryan: this house will never feel the same to me…


*all of a sudden Ryan senses something familiar too him. he walks up to the closest window at the front of his house and looks outside. He observes the trees and notices the wind is strong. Ryan then runs to the front door and steps outside.


Ryan: could it be?


*Ryan turns in the direction of Sarah’s house. Just then a huge sensation sends a chill through Ryan’s whole body. He turns around to see the Dark Aura appear in his driveway. The Aura becomes a bit transparent, but still visible. The next Dark Minion is standing before Ryan.


Ryan: (angered) its you.

Dark Minion: whats wrong? I figured since you’ve been searching for us you wouldn’t mind me stopping in?

Ryan: how did you know I was looking?

Dark Minion: oh please I can see whatever I want that goes on in your world right from my world.

Ryan: (clenches his fists) you’ve been spying on me?!

Dark Minion: don’t sound so surprised.


*the Dark blue – Black tinted Aura appears around Ryan. It burns wildly. Raziel appears behind Ryan. We’re taken too Sarah. She is in her room and completely unaware of what’s going on outside her house. Honest appears.


Honest: Sarah, I think you should have a look at this. (points to her window)

Sarah: what’s going on?


*Sarah walks to her window and looks outside to see Ryan, Raziel, and a Dark Minion.


Sarah: oh crap! Honest I have to get down there.

Honest: I understand.


*Sarah grabs her deck and heads down the stairs to her back door. She sneaks out and makes her way to the front of the house quietly. Raziel appears next to her.


Raziel: this isn’t good Sarah. Please keep your distance from those 2 right now.


*we’re now taken back to Ryan and the Dark Minion. Their still having their conversation.


Ryan: (angered) tell me one thing. Did you do it?

Dark Minion: hmm?

Ryan: you killed him, didn’t you?

Dark Minion: (sarcasm) I don’t know? I kill a lot of people. (smirks)


*Ryan becomes completely enraged now that he knows the truth.


Ryan: you basterd! I’m going to destroy you!


*the new tinted Aura around Ryan burns out of control. Ryan jumps towards the Dark Minion. Once both his feet leave the ground, Ryan uses the Aura to blast himself foreward. He is now about 7 feet away from the Dark Minion, and about eye level to it.


Ryan: now die!!


*as soon as Ryan unleashes his Aura, so does the Dark Minion. But this time the Dark Minion’s attack is different. Ryan’s attack hits the ground where the Minion was standing. It’s gone. When Ryan lands on the ground he hears the sound of Sarah’s voice.


Sarah: Ryan above you!


*Ryan looks up to find a cloud of Dark Aura about 10 feet above his head. Almost instanty, the Darkness slams down onto Ryan. This causes a huge gust of wind. Sarah and Raziel struggle against the wind as they hear Ryan yell. The wind dies down. When Sarah looks up at Ryan, she sees a Pure Black Aura in the driveway.


Sarah: what happened?

Raziel: Sarah…

Sarah: what?

Raziel: I don’t know. All of a sudden I feel very strange…

Sarah: (confused) what in the world is going on?


*Sarah looks back at the Pure Black Aura in Ryan’s driveway. She can now make out a figure standing inside the Aura.


Sarah: (gasps) is that…Ryan?


*Ryan now becomes visible inside the Pure Black Aura. To follow up with her confusion she hears Raziel quivering.


Sarah: Raziel what’s wrong?!

Raziel: (struggling too talk) Sarah, you and Honest need to get away from here. As far as you can. The Ryan standing there is no longer the Ryan we all know, and I’m afraid I will no longer be the same Raziel.

Sarah: what are you talking about?

Raziel: (still struggling) I don’t know how, but somehow that last Dark Minion destroyed itself, leaving it’s Aura behind. That Darkness now took over Ryan. I guess it was easy for that too happen because of his anger. This whole thing must have been their plan. And I’m afraid that the Darkness has tainted his deck. Which includes me…

Sarah: I cant believe this…

Raziel: please, just take Honest and go.

Sarah: but-

Raziel: (cutting her off) look at my legs…


*Sarah looks at Raziel’s legs and notices that they’ve started to change color. To a darkish blue.


Sarah: what’s happening?

Raziel: what I already told you. The Darkness is in the both of us. Me and Ryan. So please. Just get out of town.


*Sarah thinks about this for awhile. She decides to leave for now, but secretly come back home every now and then to see how things are - Secretly of course. She only tells Raziel about the leaving part.


Sarah: ok have it your way. I’ll be gone soon. Please be careful.

Raziel: I’ll do whatever I can.


*Raziel yells out. She can’t fight off the darkness anymore. It completely takes over her and the rest of Ryan’s deck. Sarah backs away, but still turns around every so often to see what’s happening. She eventually goes back into her house through the back door and makes her way upstairs to her winder. She opens it and tries to see if she can hear anything. After about 3 minutes, she overhears Ryan say something.


Ryan: nice to see you…Ruzilen. (Roo Zai Lin)


*Sarah looks over to where Raziel and her last sat. she finds Raziel sitting there, or so she thinks. Raziel is now a blackish blue colored –fiendish looking spirit.


*Honest appears.


Honest: did I hear him say Ruzilen?

Sarah: yea. I have no idea what’s going on. I’m so scared Honest.

Honest: nothing will happen too you. I promise.


*we’re now taken to where Ryan and the now Ruzilen are. Ryan now has a Pure Black Aura and Red-Tinted eyes.


Ryan: it’s time to go.


*Ruzilen fades away. Ryan’s new Aura burns rapidly and within seconds Ryan is gone.


Sarah: Ryan…


*we’re now taken to the Dark Master in the world of Darkness. He is sitting in his “throne”.


Dark Master: well done my minion. Well done.

Chapter 26 – The Disappearance





*After hours and hours of searching, the next Dark Minion finds Ryan instead, right at his own house. It turns out that Ryan’s suspicion was right – the Dark Minions killed his Grandfather. Ryan aims to destroy this Minion. But it turns out that this Dark Minion’s aim was also too destroy itself. And by doing so, it leaves behind it’d Darkness. Since the Darkness is attracted to anger and Ryan was the one who had the most anger nearby, the Darkness consumed him. Sarah and Raziel were watching from afar. After an explosion that almost sent Sarah flying, she notices a Pure-Black Aura. Sarah late realizes that its Ryan standing inside this Aura. She then notices Raziel changing from her redish color to a dark blueish color. The transformation of Ryan and his deck had been completed.



It has now been 2 days since the incident. The time is 3:12 pm on a Friday. No one has seen or heard from Ryan. So this chapter begins with the same 2 cops that keep talking to Ryan and Sarah. They are standing in front of Ryan’s house.





Cop 1: this is his house.





*the 2 cops walk up to his door and knock.





Cop 2: anybody home?





*no answer. It turns out the cops have been trying to get a hold of Ryan for a day now. They decide to talk to Sarah. Sarah is home packing her bags and getting ready to get out of town for now. Once she’s all packed up she heads downstairs and talks to her parents.





Sarah: mom, dad?



Sarah’s Father: what’s up Sarah?



Sarah: you remember Caitlin right? well she asked me too hang out this weekend. They’re going on a trip out of town. It’s alright if I go right?



Sarah’s Mother: absolutely not! Not only did you wait until the day of too tell us, but what made you think I would even agree too this?



Sarah’s Father: oh common hunny. It’s ok. Why wouldn’t she be able to go?



Sarah: see mom now that’s why I thought I’d be able to go. I knew you wouldn’t agree. But Dad’s got my back. (laughs)



Sarah’s Mother: (sighs) well where are you going?



Sarah: (realizing she needed to come up with an excuse) ohh um. Her parents wouldn’t tell us. They said it was a surprise. (thinking) And they also said I’d need some money.



Sarah’s Mother: fine. Here’s $30.00.



Sarah: wow thanks…





*Sarah says her goodbye’s. right before heading out the door her dad stops her.





Sarah’s Father: hey hold on there kiddo.





*Sarah’s Father takes out his wallet and hands her another $50.00.





Sarah’s Father: there that should do it. sorry about your mother. She can be a little harsh.



Sarah: (laughs) yea I’ve realized. But heyy thanks dad.



Sarah’s Father: no problem. (kisses Sarah’s forehead) have funn.



Sarah: I will dad.





*her father walks away. Sarah continues for the front door. Once she’s about to open the door she hears knocking. She then opens the door to find a familiar 2 cops.





Sarah: can I help you?



Cop 1: yes im officer-



Sarah: (cutting her off) yea I know who you are…



Cop 1: I know. Its just my job to say that.



Sarah: (laughs) ohh yea.



Cop 2: (clearing his throat) anyway. Listen we’ve been trying to get in contact with Ryan for about a day now. He isn’t answering our calls and he doesn’t appear to be home today. Do you know where he is?





*Sarah talks to Honest in her thoughts.





Sarah: should I tell them?



Honest: don’t tell them about the situation. Deffinetly not.



Sarah: (back to the cops) I don’t know. I also have been trying to contact him but I don’t know where he is. In fact, I haven’t seen or heard from him in 2 days.



Cop 1: well there’s something that he needs to be informed about. Do you know when he’ll be back?



Sarah: haven’t a clue. But what do you need to him?



Cop 2: we aren’t supposed to discuss.



Sarah: look. I know Ryan would tell me. If this involves him I need to know.



Cop 2: look girl, just get back ins-



Cop 1: (cutting him off) it’s alright. I know her like I know Ryan. I know what relationship they have. It’s ok too tell them. So here it is Sarah. The thing is that Ryan is only 17. as of right now he has no legal Guardian. His father’s in prison and we can’t locate his mother. So until we locate his mother then he will have to become property of the government in foster care.



Sarah: I don’t think Ryan would want any of that. (trying to get rid of the cops) well I’ll let you know if I hear from him. look my friends waiting for me so I gotta get going.



Cop 2: alright. And thanks for your help. (handing her a card) that’s one of my cards. if you find out any information please call the number on the card.





*Sarah walks off to her car and drives off.





Cop 1: are you thinking what im thinking?



Cop 2: the friend she was talking about. You’re thinking she’s talking about Ryan too aren’t you?



Cop 1: absolutely. We should follow her.





*the cops get into their car and follow Sarah. Sarah has driven too Trey’s house too talk to Trey. She get’s out of her car, heads to Trey’s front door and knocks. The cops stay a few houses back.





Cop 1: (thinking) that’s not Ryan.



Cop 2: well how about that? She really doesn’t know after all.



Cop 1: well let’s wait a few minutes. then we’ll get going.





*Sarah yells for Trey.





Sarah: (knocking) Trey you here!?





*Trey opens the door to find Sarah standing there.





Trey: what’s up Sarah?



Sarah: I need to talk to you. Are you alone?





*Sarah tells trey about everything. The Dark Minions, Ryan’s Grandfather and his transformation. Trey doesn’t know what too say.





Trey: (confused) well..uh…are you sure?



Sarah: would I make something like this up?



Trey: well I don’t know you that well. But I guess not.



Sarah: good. Cause I wouldn’t and I’m not. But the worst part is that Ryan just disappeared and no one has seen him since that last Dark Minion attack.



Trey: well I haven’t seen him if that’s why you’re here.



Sarah: no not exactly. I’m here cause Raziel told me too get out of town. But I’m not leaving forever. I’m going to secretly go back to Corona and try to help the best I can.



Trey: well how wonder women-like of you.



Sarah: I’m being serious. Ohh and there’s just one more thing. My parents kinda think I’m staying at my friend Caitlin’s house for the weekend. So can I maybe stay here for now?



Trey: hmm well I don’t know if that will be ok with my parents. (realizes) my parents…who aren’t even home right now nor will be the whole weekend!



Sarah: cool. Thanks. And if I need to convince you more, I have $80.00 too spend.



Trey: ohh well you can definitely stay here!





*the cops are still watching Sarah. Sarah and Trey are about to go inside when Honest and Erasmos appear.





Sarah: Honest?



Trey: what’s up Erasmos?



Honest: I just got a terribly terrifying feeling fill me up.



Erasmos: meep meep. (Carbuncle talk for “this scary sensation just came over me)





*Sarah and Trey look at eachother. The cops are having a conversation.





Cop 1: alright nothing suspicious. I guess we can go now.



Cop 2: you know, just once I want something exciting too happen…





*all of a sudden the wind picks up tremendously. It picks up the Cop car and knocks Sarah and Trey against Trey’s house. A last minute instinct makes the Cops jump out of the car and onto the ground right before it flips over.





Cop 2: on second thought, I think I was fine living a boring life.





*the Wind is still strong. Sarah realizes the Cops had followed her.





Sarah: (yelling out to them) what are you doing here?!





*about a dozen Black waves start to glide through the air. All 12 waves meet in front of Trey’s house in his yard. The separate waves join together and form a Pure-Black Aura. The Aura is visible to everybody. All of a sudden a winged Fiend flies out of the Aura and into the sky.





Trey: what is that?



Sarah: that looks like…Aeolus?





*the Winged-Fiend holds up his sword and slashes down toward Sarah and Trey. This causes a gust of Wind mixed with a Pure-Black Aura to hurled towards them. It strikes right above them on trey’s house, causing the house to be damaged and Sarah and trey to fall down. Just then another Pure-Black Aura appears in front of the house. Ryan appears.





Ryan: that’s enough, Aeoleus. (A-Oh-Lee-Us)





*Aeoleus vanishes. The cops notice Ryan standing there and run towards him.





Cop 1: Ryan stay put! We need too talk to you!



Sarah: (yelling to the cops) no stop! Get back!





*the Pure-Black Aura appears around Ryan. Ryan launches the new Aura towards the Cops and hits them dead on, causing them to fall back unconscious.





Sarah: (shocked) Ryan did that effortlessly. And he did it so quickly. Even the attack happened in an instant.



Trey: uhh does someone wanna fill me in here?!



Sarah: it’s what I already told you.



Trey: so you really weren’t joking?



Sarah: no! sheesh!



Ryan: well look who it is. Sarah and Trey.



Trey: what are you doing mann?





*Ryan glares at Trey. His eyes are tinted with a Crimson Red.





Trey: enough said…



Sarah: Ryan stop this right now!



Ryan: what makes you think I’d listen to you.



Sarah: well excuse me!



Ryan: I’m on my own now. I left you and everyone else and look how strong I’ve become. I don’t need you anymore.



Sarah: you don’t mean that…



Trey: hey cool it buddy!





*Ryan glares at Trey. The Aura is still surrounding Ryan. He looks at Sarah, then back at Trey. Ryan then launches another blast of the Pure-Black Aura at Trey. Trey is defenseless.





Sarah: stop this!





*Trey is frozen with fear. He closes his eyes cause he feels better not being able to see what’s going on.





Sarah: Trey!





*the Aura stops right in front of trey and vanishes.





Ryan: you’re not worth it.



Trey: (opens his eyes) I’m not worth it? if I remember right I almost destroyed you when we dueled!



Ryan: that was when I was the old Ryan. You’d be dealing with the new Ryan now.





*takes out his deck.





Trey: well I’m willing to give it another shot if you are? Not like I’m giving you a choice.



Ryan: (snickers) are you serious.



Trey: 100%. Sarah mind if I borrow that duel disk of yours.



Sarah: Trey I don’t want you dueling.



Trey: it will be fine. I’ll duel him, win, then change him back to the normal lovable Ryan.



Sarah: are you sure that will work?



Trey: well that’s how it works on tv.



Sarah: oh great…our lives are in the hand of a television freak.





*Sarah hands Trey her duel disk.





Sarah: just don’t screw up ok? We need him back.



Trey: don’t worry. (to Ryan) you ready Ryan?



Ryan: you really want to go through with this don’t you..



Trey: yepp.



Ryan: it’s your life kid. Lucky for me I have some time too spare.



Ryan and Trey: let’s duel!

Chapter 27 – Rise of the Fallen


*after not being seen for 2 days, Ryan appears right in front of Sarah and Trey at Trey’s house. But this Ryan is not like the Ryan we’ve known. And it turns out that the Aeolus we knew is not the same Aeolus, considering he attacked Sarah and Trey. And considering his name is Aeoleus and not Aeolus. After Ryan mocks Trey, Trey challenges Ryan to a duel. the challenge didn’t seem to phase Ryan at all. But in the end Ryan and Trey end up starting their duel.


Ryan and Trey: lets duel!


*Trey attaches his duel disk and places his shuffled deck inside. Erasmos appears on Trey’s shoulder.


Erasmos: meep (be careful)

Trey: its all gonna be ok pal.


*Erasmos disappears. Ryan holds out his left arm and the Pure-Black Aura gathers around his fore-arm. A duel disk is then formed with a deck already inside and Ryan draws his opening hand.


Trey: I bet that comes in handy.

Ryan: let’s start this thing. (draws a card) I activate Inverted Elements.


Ryan: with this I can now add 1 Falling monster from my deck to my hand. I choose Jhargett, Falling Air. And now I summon him to the field in defense mode.


*the Pure-Black Aura appears in front of Ryan and Jhargett is summoned from the Aura.


Sarah: that looks like Jhereg.

Ryan: and now I’ll lay this face down.


*Turn moves to Trey.


Trey: alright her we go. (draws a card) I summon Crystal Wyvern Evaristus! In attack mode!


*a large Crystal strikes up from the ground. It shatters and Evaristus is summoned.


Trey: and as long as Evaristus is out-

Ryan: yea yea. I cant play any set cards. this isn’t our first duel you know.

Trey: hey I’m surprised you remember. Now, are you sure your like one of the bad guys now? Cause you remember everything about your past and whether or not you want to admit it I could tell you wouldn’t have killed me with your Aura. I could tell you wanted to stop it just as soon as it was about to hit me!

Ryan: (snickering) you sure about that?


*the Pure-Black Aura appears around Ryan as he launches a blast of Aura towards Trey fast. Just as soon as its about too hit Trey Sarah yells out.


Sarah: (pleading) Ryan stop this!


*the Aura vanishes around Ryan and in front of Trey.


Trey: (thinking) wait a sec.


*in Trey’s mind


Trey: hey cool it buddy!


*Ryan glares at Trey. The Aura is still surrounding Ryan. He looks at Sarah, then back at Trey. Ryan then launches another blast of the Pure-Black Aura at Trey. Trey is defenseless.


Sarah: stop this!


*Trey is frozen with fear. He closes his eyes cause he feels better not being able to see what’s going on.


Sarah: Trey!


*the Aura stops right in front of trey and vanishes.


*back to present time.


Trey: oh course. It’s because of Sarah that he’s stopping his attacks. Just like before. This time she cried out for him to stop again and he did.


*looking at Ryan.


Trey: he still cares about her. She must be the key on getting him back to normal.

Ryan: well what are you waiting for? I spared your life for the 2nd time so continue your turn!

Trey: as you wish. (to himself) cause I just figured this all out. (to Ryan) Evaristus attack his Jhargett with Crystal Spear!


*Evaristus roars and Crystal spikes appear out of the ground 1 by one in a path thats heading towards Jhargett, Falling Air. Jhargett is destroyed after a Crystal Spike slices through him. A Pure-Black Aura is left behind.


Trey: lucky for you he was in defense mode.

Ryan: (ignoring Trey) I activate Jhargett’s special ability. When he’s destroyed and sent to the graveyard I can special summon a level 4 or lower Falling monster from my hand, deck, or graveyard. And I think I’ll summon Violian, Falling Shadows to the field from my deck!


*the Aura left Behind on Ryan’s field erupts as Violian rises out of it in attack mode.


Sarah: and I think that one looks like Violiar…

Trey: not bad Ryan. But you’ll have to do much better than 1500 attack points to beat Evaristus. But for now I’ll place one card face down and let you go.


*Turn moves to Ryan as he draws a card.

Ryan’s hand – 5
Ryan’s LP = 4000

Trey’s hand – 5
Trey’s LP = 4000


Ryan: it’s your time. Poseident, Falling Water come forth!


*the Pure-Black Aura swirls up from the ground as Poseident is summoned in attack mode.


Ryan: now Trey, do you remember when you said that I need more than 1500 attack points to take down Evaristus? Well I’ve got more for you – Violian’s special ability! And as long as Violian is face up on my field, during my turn all your monsters attack points will drop 100 points for every cad in your hand. And your holding 5 which puts Evaristus at 1100.


*Violian lashes out his tentacles and wraps them around Evaristus, dropping his attack points down to 1100. Violian lets go.


Trey: oh man…

Ryan: Violian attack his Evaristus. Inverted Vice-Grip!


*Violian lashes out his tentacles towards Evaristus once again. But this time a large Crystal Wall appears in front of Trey’s field, stopping Violian’s attack.


Trey: nice try Ryan. But thanks to my Crystal Barrier trap card your attack has been negated.


Ryan: not bad. But if I remember right that trap card of yours lets us both draw 1 card. you must be pretty confident to let me draw.

Trey: I know I can do this. I can win this!

Sarah: (nervous) don’t give up Trey…


*Ryan and Trey both draw 1 card. as Ryan looks at the card he drew, he grins. Trey gets a bad feeling about the card Ryan just drew.


Ryan: (to himself) I am going to enjoy this. (to Trey) now I hope you didn’t forget that its still my turn. And I hope you realized that by drawing a card you lowered Evaristus’s attack points even more thanks to Violian’s effect! Poseident pick up where Violian left off and destroy that Wyvern! Inverted Rapid!


*Poseident Leaps in the air and points his staff at Evaristus. A mixture of water and Pure-Black Aura is formed and launched towards Evaristus, causing him to be destroyed and Trey to take 600 points of damage.

Current LP = 3400.


Ryan: and now that he’s gone I can activate my face down Inverted Spirits!



Ryan: with this I can bring back a level 4 or lower Falling monster to my field from my grave. Come back Jhargett, Falling Air.


*the Pure-Black Aura appears in front of Inverted Spirits. Jhargett is formed in attack mode.


Ryan: and now Jhargett can strike you directly. So go get him!


*Trey is caught off guard by this attack. Jhargett flies up and swoops down into Trey, knocking him down. Trey takes 1400 points of damage.

Current LP = 2000.


Trey: this isn’t good. He has 3 monsters out and I don’t have a single card on my field. but I wont give up. (stands back up)

Ryan: (to himself) so he still wants to continue. People really are stubborn these days…

Trey: anything else you’ve got for me?

Sarah: (sighs) do you really think it’s a good idea to provoke him…

Ryan: well since you asked, I’ll just set this face down. Now you go.


*Turn moves to Trey.


Trey: (to himself) alright. I really have to pull off something awesome this turn. (looking at Ryan’s new monsters) but this is nuts. I wasn’t expecting him to be so strong. Do I really have what it takes to win?

Chapter 28 – Rise of the Fallen Part 2


*the duel between Trey and the new Dark Ryan began with Ryan’s draw. It turns out that Ryan’s new Falling deck is filled with the Dark counterparts of his old Rising Deck. Trey starts off pretty good, but Ryan comes out of nowhere with a triple threat attack from 3 Falling Monsters. Trey manages to stop one attack, but in the end he is left defenseless. Trey realizes that Sarah is the key to getting Ryan back to his old self. He believes he can use Sarah to not only bring Ryan back to normal, but win the duel as well.


Trey: I can do this. (draws a card) I activate Crystal Core!


*a transparent Crystal Sphere forms in the air.


Trey: With this I can Special Summon my Crystal Wyvern – Evaristus in my graveyard and equip him with this card.


*Evaristus becomes visible inside the Sphere. The Crystal Sphere shatters and Evaristus stands tall.


Trey: and next I sacrifice my Evaristus to summon my Crystal Warrior – Ambrosia


*Evaristus shines and disappears as a Crystal is left behind. The Crystal shatters and Ambrosia is formed in attack mode.


Trey: now that Ambrosia is out I can target 1 face down on the field. and that card has to stay face down as long as Ambrosia is face up. I think I’ll target your face down. And with that said, Ambrosia attack his Violian with Crystal Bullet!


*Ambrosia holds out his hands and fires tiny Crystal Shards at Violian. Violian is destroyed and Ryan receives 700 points of damage.

Current LP = 3300.


Sarah: alright Trey!

Trey: I can so do this! (to himself) but something tells me that the card he drew with Crystal Barrier’s effect is gonna give me trouble…


Ryan: well are you done?

Trey: pipe down over there. It’s a little thing called patience.

Ryan: (glaring) excuse me? I could kill you right now if I wanted too. But instead I’m giving you a chance to prove yourself in this duel. so since I control your life right now I would watch what you say.

Trey: fine. I’ll toss this face down. Your turn.


*turn moves to Ryan.

Ryan’s LP = 3300
Ryan’s Hand = 6
Trey’s LP = 2000
Trey’s Hand = 4


Ryan: you know what? I like night time much better than the day time.


*the Pure-Black Aura appears around Ryan. It explodes all over the place. Any living piece of the environment that the new Aura covers becomes the opposite of what it was. Trey and Sarah look around and watch as it covers the grass. The grass becomes dead, along with the leaves on the trees and the flowers lose their petals. Ryan then looks up and watches how the Sun becomes the Moon.


Ryan: that’s more like it.

Sarah: everything’s the opposite of what it was.

Trey: whoa…

Ryan: now then back to business. (draws a card) I activate Inverted Curse!


*a Pure-Black Aura Wisp floats in front of Ryan.


Ryan: thanks to my Curse card I can add Violian back to my hand since he’s in my graveyard. And then my Inverted Curse Spell inflicts 700 points of damage to your Life Points!


*the Pure-Black Aura Wisp floats over to Trey. It covers Trey sending a shock through his body. Trey yells out as he takes 700 points of damage.

Current LP = 1300


Sarah: oh no…

Ryan: and the fun is just beginning Trey. Now I summon Ruzilen, Falling Dusk in attack mode!


*a Pure-Black Aura erupts on the field and Ruzilen flies up out of it.


Sarah: Raziel…

Ryan: and now I’ll activate Inverted Restriction from my hand!


Ryan: watch as the seal takes over your monster and makes it weaker.


*the Inverted Symbols appear all over Ambrosia causing his attack to drop by 500.

Current ATK = 1800


Ryan: Ruzilen it’s time to shine. Attack that Crystal Warrior with Inverted Trident!


*Ruzilen flies up in the sky and stops as she is seen in front of the Moon. Ruzilen’s swords then materialize as she slashes them downward, causing 2 Pure-Black Crescent Aura’s to be hurled at Crystal Warrior Ambrosia – 1 for each sword. Ambrosia is destroyed.


Trey: go Hallowed Life Barrier! [Hallowed Life Barrier - Discard 1 card from your hand. This turn, any damage you take from your opponent's cards and effects becomes 0.]


*Trey discards Crystal Dragon – Carolus. a barrier forms over Trey protecting him from harm.


Ryan: you’re lucky. cause Ruzilen inflicts 300 points of damage to your life points for every level your Ambrosia had. Since he has 6, you would have taken 1800 points of damage. And my Restriction card would have doubled all your battle damage.

Sarah: talk about cutting it close.

Ryan: well I’ll have to come up with something else. But for now I’ll end my turn.


*turn moves to Trey.

Ryan’s LP = 3300
Ryan’s hand = 5

Trey’s LP = 1300
Trey’s Hand = 4


Trey: and here I am back to an empty field. let’s make this turn count. (draws a card) alright this is gonna be awesome. I remove Crystal Wyvern – Evaristus and Crystal Warrior – Ambrosia in my graveyard from play to special summon Crystal Phoenix – Bassillios!


*Evaristus and Ambrosia appear and fade away, leaving behind a Crystal. The Crystal takes the shape of a Phoenix as it shatters into a Crystal Blue Flame. Bassillios is summoned from the flame in attack mode.


Trey: but I’m not done, next I activate my Lightning Vortex!


*Ryan is caught off guard and Sarah is excited.


Sarah: alright Trey!

Ryan: no!


*Trey discards Crystal Sword and Lightning Crashes down all over Ryan’s field, destroying his monsters.


Ryan: you’ll pay for that. I assure you!

Trey: believe it when I see it! now Bassillios attack Ryan directly with Crystal Flare!


*Bassillios is covered with a Crystal Blue Flame as she rams into Ryan, knocking him down. Ryan receives 3000 points of damage.

Current LP = 300.


Trey: (proudly) how was that?


*Ryan glares at Trey with that Red Tint in his eye.


Trey: jeez man…I’ll just play this face down and my turn. And guess what that means?


*Bassillios becomes engulfed by a Crystal Blue Flame.


Trey: since I ended my turn, Bassillios inflicts to you 200 points of damage for every Crystal Monster I have out. So that’s 200. go Bassillios!


*Bassillios’s flame erupts towards Ryan causing him to lose 200 Life Points.

Ryan’s LP = 100
Ryan’s Hand = 5

Trey’s LP = 1300
Trey’s Hand = 1


Trey: (to himself) I’m so close. (to Ryan) it’s your move…


*turn moves to Ryan as he draws a card.


Ryan: you’re going to pay dearly for that last stunt you pulled!


*the Pure Black Aura appears around Ryan. It’s waving rapidly. The Wind gets strong as Ryan holds out a card.


Ryan: I activate Heavy Storm! [Heavy Storm - Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field.]


*the wind becomes furious as trey’s face down is destroyed along with Ryan’s face down. Inverted Fury and Crystal Formation are sent to the graveyard.


Trey: (struggling with the wind) so much for that.

Ryan: and the worst is ahead. In fact, it’s right now.

Sarah: that doesn’t sound good…

Trey: bring it!

Ryan: I activate Nightmare Calling!


*The card is tainted with the Pure-Black Aura. The Aura bursts into the sky causing a fierce Wind and streams of Aura to be sent flying everywhere. One of the 2 cops wake up.

Cop 2: wh-where am i?


*the cop looks at the situation and gets freaked out.


Cop 2: I’ve gotta get out of here!


*Cop 2 wakes up Cop 1.


Cop 1: what happened?

Cop 2: knocked on conscious. but we have to get out of here now. Come on move, move!


*the 2 cops get up and run away. Their cop car is damaged so they can’t use it to escape. The Wind is strong as the sky above begins to be covered with a purple cloud. The cloud swirls in a circle and right above the duel field a hole in the cloud opens up. Lightning strikes around the area.


Sarah: what is this?!?!

Trey: Ryan! What’s going on?!?!

Ryan: I’m doing exactly what you asked for Trey! Now then, my Nightmare Calling spell allows me too summon 1 Falling monster from my hand, deck, or graveyard by discarding monsters in my hand who’s total levels equal or surpass the special summoned Falling monster! And the best part is that monster’s summoning conditions are ignored.

Trey: this looks bad.

Ryan: I discard Valkundinious, Falling Guardian and Prometheun, Falling Doom.


*the spirits of Valkundinious and Prometheun are absorbed into the hole in the sky.


Ryan: time to give you what you wanted Trey! I summon Arkanor, Falling Death!


*a Pure-Black Aura streams from the hole in the sky as it takes the shape of a large creature. The Aura fades away and Arkanor is visible.


Sarah: Arkados’s counterpart…that’s not good. Arkados was Ryan’s Ace Rising card. so Arkanor must be the Falling Decks Ace.

Trey: he’s huge.

Ryan: my Arkanor is going to destroy you Trey! Your Bassillios is defenseless over there.

Trey: hey keep talking Ryan. I’ll still survive this attack. The difference in our monsters attack points is just 1000. I’ll survive and then come back at you next turn!


*Ryan laughs.


Trey: what’s so funny?

Ryan: next turn? There isn’t going to be a next turn for you Trey! You’ll be happy if you have your next breath once Arkanor is finished with you!

Trey: what are you talking about?

Ryan: my Arkanor has the power to choose either the attack or defense points of your monster to do battle with.

Trey: (shocked) wait, so you can use my Bassillios’s defense points for this attack?

Ryan: now you’re catching on.

Trey: (to himself) if he uses Bassillios’s defense power for this battle, then the difference in their attacks will be 1300. that’s all I have left…

Sarah: but then if this works, then Trey could… (looking at Arkanor) Ryan could severely hurt Trey…

Ryan: Trey, it’s time. Arkanor take down that Phoenix with your Inverted Blaze!


*Arkanor roars. He opens his jaw and a Pure-Black light appears inside. the light is fired and is instantly changed to a Pure-Black Aura Flame. The attack hits Bassillios dead on, covering his entire body. The aftermath of the attack explodes in Trey’s direction, completely covering him with the flame. Trey receives 1300 points of damage and falls unconscious.

Current LP = 0.


Sarah: (tearing) Trey!


*the holograms fade away, the Wind dies down, and the environment around them turns back to normal. Sarah gets up and runs to Trey who is covered with bruises and mild burns.


Sarah: Trey. Trey! Come on get up!

Ryan: I doubt he’ll get up.

Sarah: why…why would you do this!


*Sarah turns around to find Ryan is no longer there. He has disappeared again and now no one knows where he is or when he’ll be back. Sarah calls 911 for help. They get Trey in an ambulance, and Sarah gets in a cop car that follows the ambulance Trey is in. as they drive off Sarah thinks to herself.


Sarah: you’re gonna be ok Trey. I just no it.
