PostSubject: YVD-Installing+User Guide   Sun Jun 07, 2009 3:50 pm

Well i saw the one LorVolk had posted but it did not have much info in how to use this System, even though i had already written one for my own site long ago,i might as well share it here as it has steps in using YVD properly as well as hosting and joining.Hope this is okay. Smile

Step 1: Installing

First things first, you need to go to http://xerocreative.com/index.php?goto=yvd&sub=downloads

Now what you want to download goes as follows:

YVD 9.0 MSI (try this first)
OR
YVD 9.0 ZIP

Once you have YVD installed, it will be in your start menu.Try the 2nd one first as it is much better/

Now to download the images. All Images ZIP should be at the bottom of that download page. Save it in the YVD Images folder that should usually be at C:\Program Files\Yugioh Virtual Dueling\Images.

Unzip the file in there, and you should be good to go with your basic setup.Btw all the images will not be there.only old cards from GX and the Original series will be present.

Step 2: Using your YVD

Yay! We have YVD running. Now lets learn to use it.

The Deck Editing part should not be too hard, everything is easy to search up. If there is a need to explain this I will... eh I will do it anyways.

1: Click Update Sets on the interface.
2: Search for the cards you want on the search bar.
3: Click on them to put them in your deck/side deck.
4: When finished, click Save Deck and give it a name.

Note: OCG cards are on OCG mode.

Now when we click on Duel, we will be on the main screen.

Simply press Connect, and from the drop-down Menu, select either of the Server Duel options. You will be asked to create an account, and it is as easy as entering it right there on the pop up.

If you chose Server Duel: Host, your opponent chooses Client, and vice versa. Remember to write your opponents username in the space provided.

If you are able to host IP on KCVDS, the same applies here. Click Listen instead of connect. Your opponent will select Normal Duel: I am connecting to my opponent. from the drop-down menu and put in your IP address.

Some good shortcuts to learn while first getting used to the game are:

Ctrl+D Draw
Ctrl+S Shuffle
Ctrl+K Look at Deck
Ctrl+R Roll Die
Ctrl+G Look at Graveyard

The /add and /sub functions work the same as they did in KCVDS, so no worries there.

I think it only takes about one duel to feel comfy with it, and I will certainly be there for anyone who wants to try it out, or have any questions..

PostSubject: Re: YVD-Installing+User Guide   Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:10 am

actually in the readme inside the file i included a how to ^^; I'll post it here after i get it downloaded again I also included the newest YVD.set, the image file, as well as the setup in the download.

Here you go:

Alright! To those that have not used YVD before, even those oldies who havent used the new version, here are the basic keys and commands.

CTRL + R = Roll dice
CTRL + T = Discard card from top of deck
CTRL + W = Show drawn card
CTRL + D = Draw
CTRL + S = Shuffle deck
CTRL + Y = View your deck (editor)
CTRL + Q = Quit
CTRL + K = Search Deck (in game)
CTRL + O = Flip Deck Upside down
CTRL + G = Search your graveyard
CTRL + I = Search your RFG
CTRL + P = Next Phase
CTRL + E = End turn
CTRL + F = Flip coin
CTRL + U = Search extra (fusion) deck
/sub subtracts the ammount of lifepoints
/add adds the ammount of life points.

Now to connect to your opponent:
To connect to your opponent look on the bottom left of the YVD screen after finishing your deck. There will be two buttons, one labeled Liste, One labeled connect. Clicking listen will show that you have an IP, this is your public IP, however with hamachi if you are in the same network the you will connect through that IP instead.

Now if you hit connect there will be alot of options. the first of which is:
Normal Duel: Im connecting to my Opponent. Thi would be the one you use with hamachi/ip

Then there are the next two:
Server Duel: I'm going to be the host.
Server Duel: I'm going to be the client.

these two can be used rather easily, all you have to do is sign up for an account at xerocreative.com

The last two are obsolete, but they are:
Relay Duel: I'm going to be host
Relay Duel: I'm going to be client

these were used beore the server duel was iplimented. Basically they connect to someone's IP and uses them as a relay if they can't host.

additional requirements: Right click is your friend. it i sused for alot of the basic interactions.

Now to load the new set file that is included in the file go to where you installed YVD and put it in there, over writing the file in the install file.

Installing the Image files is about as easy. When extractinvg the zip file that they are in go to where YVD was installed there will be something labeled images. Extract the images there.

Alright! those are the commands that you need to duel, the rest I am sure you can figure out. Have fun
