PostSubject: the Duel King at UDE Day   Sun Feb 08, 2009 1:42 pm

http://setokaiba.com/BattleCity/viewtopic.php?pid=188016#p188016

i won 5-2, losing to teledad and zombiedad (zombiedad went on to top
Cool, the latter by a difference of 100 LP in overtime!! >__<

the
other guy ended up 5-2 as well. i placed EIGHTEENTH out of 126
duelists...and only top 16 get prizes.... >______________< and
the difference between 16-17-18 was rzaor thin in the tiebreakers
>__<

$20 down the drain.

round 1: telehorus, 2-0
round
2: teledad (against a regionals champ who went on to top 16
>__<), 2-0 He was pissed! lol. after the match this other guy
came up to me and said he had never seen that guy so pissed and upset
lol. he kept trying to rush me through the duel so it wasn't pleasant.
at the end i summoned tytannial and he flipped ccv, and i thought it
was over for me...but the judge caught this and said tytannial wouldn't
be destroyed, since it was 1400 atk from black garden! gg
also at one point he was so desperately low on LP at 175 after multiple
solemns (grrr). but at that point, i was attacking with ryko and he had
to pwwb it! lol
round 3: anti-meta deck. 2-1. after losing the 1st
round, i sided effectively and won the 2nd. our games took so long that
we went into overtime. it was intense! on my last turn (before the game
ended), he had 7200 lp and i only had 3900...huge deficit to make up!
but i executed a massive play with heavy storm and 2 solemns, then i
ended with 975-800, my favor!!!
round 4: teledad, 1-2. a mod from
yugioh forums handed me my first loss, he went on to 5-2 record as
well. he won the opening rolll...which usually messes up my match
>__< It was funny when he smacked into my raiou with his halved
goyo tho! he was pretty upset about that xD. psychologically i was
kinda reeling from the intensity of the previous match, so that wasn't
good.
round 5: lost to a top 8 finisher. 1-2, zombiedad (best deck
IMO...the one i'd make if i was rich). he is a professional tourney
player. it went into overtime since he took really freaking long for
his turns... . then he won 7000-6900! played two twisters against my gardens and hit me with goblin zombie. sucks!!
round
6: Lightsworns (with necro, plaguespreader, etc). won 2-0! heh. i was
expecting to get creamed by LS but i even won the first round, unsided!
lol
round 7: teledad, 2-1, for a 2-1 record against teledad for the
tournament. we were both fatigued from the previous duels but played
our best. the biggest play was when he summoned a second stardust! i
chained torrential, he negated it with stardust, i negated his negation
with divine wrath, he negated that with solemn, then i negated his
negation of my negation of his negation of my destruction! lol. byebye
stardust!

not bad for my first pro tourney
too
bad the game is getting taken over by konami tho, i probably joined the
game when everyone is leaving it >___<....just my luck.

i'd like to thank Seto Kaiba for making KCVDS and getting me interested in the game again...you've accomplished your mission.
i'd
like to recognize my clan, the Exile Hunters (formerly known as the
Exile) for the camaraderie and support, especially Headcase, Kyosuke
Kiryu, and v3lancer. even though headcase didn't send his cards soon enough to arrive
for the tourney xD
also, a shoutout to everyone at DUEL KINGS!

i'm Still waiting to hear from RebornShadow, v3lancer, and their $1000 decks! hope it went well with ya guys!

Oh I feel you ieatsuka. I spent all day just sort of being depressed with the judges there after I did some improv ruling discussions with them. They pretty much gave me the whole "if only you started sooner" talk. I was sad for a bit, but then we all just kept watching my friends kick so much butt. One of the people in my group got 2nd. He is like The Princess in Miami.

My other friend got taken out by freaking HECTOR HERAS on the bubble. That sucks. D:

Edit: People thought my Junklands was cool. :3
