1)Introduction

With the recent announcement of KCVDS 1.16, I will try and do an article every-other-day to inform DK members of the current meta-game. This article, I will be focusing on a monster who usually doesn't fight, but instead makes a sacrifice to have another monster do the fighting for him.

Discarding one Spell Card is a Cost to activate the effect which Special Summons a monster from your Deck.

4)Tips

• This card can be searched via "Sangan", "Last Will", "Magician's Circle" , "Mystic Tomato", "Soul Rope", or another "Summoner Monk".

• You can Normal Summon this card and equip it with either "Heart of Clear Water" or "Mist Body" to prevent it from being destroyed by battle and you will also be safe from battle damage(except for piercing damage).

• Can be very useful in an Ojama deck in a tactic known as "Ojamasnipe." Discard Ojamagic to add Ojama Yellow, Black and Green to your hand and special summon Snipe Hunter. You've just gained 2 cards to use Snipe Hunter's effect.

• In a Spellcaster-Themed Deck, discard Magical Blast for your cost and you can easily recycle it on your next turn.

• Effect can be used to search out LVL 4 Tuner monsters for an easy LVL 8 synchro.

• Effect can also be used to search out "Road Synchron" for an easy LVL 6 synchro.

• Very useful in Hero decks to summon Stratos for an easy +1 or to destroy an opponents spells and traps if you already have out Heroes.

• Summon "Exiled Force" to destroy a monster

• The most common combo used with Summoner Monk is a "Rescue Cat" synchro summon. You would first, summon a "Summoner Monk", then proceed to use his effect to summon another "Summoner Monk". Now with the second "Summoner Monk", you would use his effect to summon a "Rescue Cat". Tribute "Rescue Cat" to summon 2 "X-Sabre Airbellum". You would now be able to synchro summon two LVL 7 synchro monsters.

5)Advantages

• A LVL 4 Tuner monster can be special summoned for an easy synchro summon.

• Can be used as a deck thinner in "Exodia" decks.

• "Summoner Monk" is a +1.

6)Disadvantages

• "Divine Wrath" negates the activation and effect of "Summoner Monk".

• "Royal Oppression" can negate the special summon of a monster summoned by "Summoner Monk" destroying it and "Summoner Monk".

• In a "Stun" deck, an opponent's "Doomcaliber Knight"/"Thunder King Rai-Oh" will destroy "Summoner Monk"/the monster summoned by "Summoner Monk".
